Chapter Three

"We have something important to talk to you guys about," Sarah said taking Atlas's hands.

"What is it?" Atlas asked with a concerned look.

"Our parents decided to move. We'll be leaving first thing in the morning." Atlas looked at Sarah then at his brothers.

"What about us?" Atlas asked making his brothers look at him. "What are we going to do?"

"Wait for us to come back. I love you Atlas and I promise that one day I will return and we can be together again."

Atlas smiled and shook his head. Sarah kissed him one last time and she went in her house. Atlas stayed outside for several hours before he decided to go home. When he entered the house he smiled and goofed off as if nothing was wrong. When everyone decided to go to bed Atlas snuck out and went to Sarah's house. He knocked on her window and woke her up.

"Did you really think you could leave without saying goodbye?" Atlas asked as he helped Sarah out of the window. "I have to have one more special night with you before you go." Atlas took Sarah by her hand and led her into the forest.

"Atlas is it safe here? What if we get lost?" Sarah asked looking around. All she saw was a bunch of trees and darkness.

"Sarah I live here. Trust me, we won't get lost and you will be safe as long as I am here." Atlas helped Sarah climb a tree and they sat at the main top of it. Sarah looked around and thought that the view was beautiful. She could see the whole forest from up there. Atlas put his head against Sarah's then he kissed her.

"Atlas can I ask you something?"

"Of course you can. What is it?"

"Will you promise to wait on me? Can you promise that you won't date any other girls until I get back?"

"Sarah you are the only girl I would ever date. I promise that when you return I will be right here waiting. I'm not going anywhere. Maybe when you return my kind won't be hunted and we won't have to sneak around and date each other."

"That would be nice," Sarah said as she put her head on Atlas's shoulder. He wrapped his arms around her and they stayed up therefor several hours. Once he took her they said their goodbyes and Atlas kissed Sarah one last time. He went back home and fell asleep. The next day Hedie woke him up.

"Atlas the girls are about to leave. Do you want to say goodbye to them."

"Atlas looked at Hedie then got up. They rushed out the door, but when they got to the house the girls were gone.

"Man that stinks," Darrius said setting down. "I wish I could have told Erica bye one last time."

"Hey guys don't be so down. This isn't really goodbye after all. We just have to be patient until they come back."

"I know, but that doesn't mean I can't feel bad about it," Darrius said putting his head down.

"Guys don't be so down," Amos said with a smile. "Let's go have some fun." Atlas smiled and got up. The brothers all ran after each other and ended up finding a pond.

"Let's go for a dive," Atlas said taking his shirt off. He dived in the pond and his brothers soon followed in behind him. They had a lot of fun that day and each day they had new things planned. They did things like this for a year until their life started crumbling around them. It all started when a new family moved into the girls' old house.
