The day before was tiring having to put up with the little prince. He is quite annoying. He doesn't even remember if the novel mentioned that he was the prince's childhood friend. There are many details that he still needs to remember.
Exhausted from his training, he lay down on his bed, closing his eyes as he tried to remember details about the novel. He needs as much information as possible about his life before the main story begins, for he knows that it does not begin during his childhood; it all starts when Maximiliam begins attending the academy. There, the girls at the school get excited to see him; they all wanted to be close to him, but the young prince was only kind because he had to show a good image of himself. The day the novel begins, the empress introduces him to Marry Evans, the daughter of her lady-in-waiting, a countess and inseparable friend of the empress, who mentions that Marry will be with him as his personal assistant, since the girl is intelligent and will be able to assist him in his royal duties.
During their time at the academy, Marry meets Livius, thus beginning all those events.
"Stupid Livius... seriously? Just for a girl?"
How foolish the Livius from the novel was. Besides, Marry wasn't the only girl in the world; there were better ones. Well, at least he knows perfectly well that his heart will not be carried away by an obsession and that he will be able to save himself. Now he is no longer the timid Livius Stefan; now he is a new Livius who will get ahead and excel in everything, who will not be left behind just for being an omega.
Maximiliam went to the Stefan mansion again, because his friend was no longer going to the palace, so when he arrived he saw him training with the sword, which was strange, since Livius always refused to train that way.
"Woohoo! Livi!!!"
The brown-haired boy waved his hands to get Livius's attention, causing the boy to get distracted and end up being hit by the sword in a way. He rubbed himself while the teacher apologized, because if he had hurt him, it would be the end of him. Livius told him it was okay.
"It's normal in training, and it happened because of that one."
Livius pointed at the prince, who was laughing because of the blow Livius had received.
"I see that you are amused, Your Highness."
"Don't call me that; we are friends. You have always called me Max."
"That's when I was a child."
"Livi, you're still a child; there's only two years difference between us."
"But you're the crown prince; I must call you Your Highness."
"You know what, you're no fun anymore."
The brown-haired boy crossed his arms, pouting.
"I'm not your jester, and if you don't like it, find another friend."
"What? How can you be so cruel? I value your friendship."
"I appreciate it, but in the future friendship won't matter; we'll just be allies."
"Liiii-Viiiiiii!!!!! Don't be like that..."
The little brown-haired boy tugged at his hand, seeking Livius's attention, but he ignored him and walked away. Maximiliam sat alone on the grass, not understanding why his friend had changed so much; suddenly a cute black-haired girl sat down next to him. It was Ophelia, who smiled kindly at him.
"Excuse my little brother; he's been acting differently ever since he got sick. I'm sure deep down he appreciates your friendship."
"Oh! Lady Ophelia, I didn't know you could say such nice things."
"Are you making fun of me? Just apologize for my little brother, because I don't want them to take action against him for offending the prince."
The girl crossed her arms, clicking her tongue. To think that that childish brat would be her future husband would be a disgrace to society.
"I would never do such a thing to my friend."
"I hope so; if not, I'll never forgive you."
"I hope you don't bother him either, or you'll have to deal with me."
"I would never bother my little brother."
They looked at each other angrily, and finally turned their backs on each other and walked away.
