The vacation is about to end.
However, spending time with my entire family in our traditional village home was the best. There, we cooked delectable meals, played games, and engaged in nonstop cousin gossip.
I enjoyed every moment, which gives me
endless energy to start over again.
"Yep, to start again" This is my chance to get my life on track.
The company where I worked went bankrupt, and many people lost their jobs.
My family cannot know that I lost my job. I calmly told them that the previous owner had sold the company and that only the selected employees would be able to continue working there.
"I am one of the selected members because they were impressed by my work."
Everyone looked at me to see if I was telling the truth.
The last thing I said made everyone believe, i said,"the company had previously conducted a test and interview, and that's how I was chosen."
I am relieved that my efforts were paid. I kept practising these lies in the mirror to make them sound more real.
But there is one person who knows
I was lying: Lia's boyfriend and my sweet but not-so-sweet cousin.
I was afraid he might have spilled the beans. But what he said, something that shocked me "She's doing great, and I'm there to look after my dear sister.
I approached him shortly after and was about to say, "Thank you for not telling everyone."
He simply replied, "It is not for you."
I gave him a questionable expression.
"It's for my Lia; I don't want her to be sad because of you," he explained.
I should have guessed.
"After hearing you, mom and dad seemed
more relieved," I said.
He was on his phone, ignoring my words and playing a shooting game.
Before leaving, he looked at me and said,
"You better figure out what you're going to do next."
After that, everyone said their final goodbyes and best wishes.
I returned to the city where I live and began unpacking my baggage while listening to silent music that made me go back to that evening.
The same song that is playing on board reminds me of him— the man with the ocean blue eyes—and although we only briefly look at each
other, the concern in his gaze was genuine.
I hope he's doing good, though.
"Come on girl focuse, he's not going to give you a job or feed you, so just stop thinking about him," I told myself.
I need to get ready for my interviews tomorrow. I was very excited because it had been a long time since I had interviewed, so let's hope for the best.
Because I am going to make it.
Make it my foot, I had three interviews today
and three of them rejected me because I have less work experience.
I worked for almost a year, despite the fact
that the year was only eight and a half months long.
I mean, how am I supposed to gain
experience if you don't hire me?
A never-ending cycle of want job, get experience.
