ANIKA'S POV

The week went past quickly. I was busy with work and Levi while Dad and Will were taken by their stuff. Daniel was still here annoying the crap out of me and also creeping me out. He's been getting really pushy about wanting to get with me. I don't know what his problem is.

Tonight is Will's take over and dad's retirement party. Daniel was in Will's office last night with his men and dad for quite a long time. I even heard yelling coming from the office and could tell dad was very angry but I didn't go there to find out what was wrong. Dad drove out shortly after their meeting and didn't come back till later. He's been keeping himself busy all morning and didn't even join us for breakfast which is very odd as dad never misses out on breakfast. I I had breakfast with Levi in his room considering Daniel would be downstairs and I had no intentions of arguing with him right now. Around sunset, Will called me from his room asking to be ready to leave for the party in an hour. I got Levi ready and then got dressed myself. I don't normally like to dress so formally but there's nothing I could do to get out of this event.

Levi and I met everyone downstairs but dad had already left earlier. I am starting to get really worried about him. He's never been like this before. Wonder what's going on there? We got in the cars and made our way to the venue. It was one of ours hotels and was booked for all the guests coming over today. Will helped me out of the car and walked into the ballroom and dad was already there. I went over and hugged him but there was a sadness to him today.

There he was, standing in all his glory staring at us. His personality so dominant that it made heads turn as he moved towards us. He looked at dad giving him a nod before looking at me with a smile.

Well shit! That's the first time I have ever seen him smile in all these years and that also towards me. He walked over to us smiling with his dad and other men.

But I didn't know that smile towards me had a very specific reason that was going to turn my world upside down soon.
