I Will Work As A Librarian

William Arden, Director of the Royal Library and the Healing Wizard!

Once I saw him, a smile came out without me knowing.

William adored the heroine, Priscia, but he was a man who hid his heart and took care of her like an older brother, fearing that she would feel burdened.

William approached Carlix with a soft smile.

“Duke Reinhardt, it has been a long time since you visited the Royal Library. It’s a pleasure to see you again.”

On the other hand, Carlix frowned and stared sharply at William.

“Director, the library security system is the worst. I just handed over the intruders who broke into the library to the military police. Where are the alternative budgets going?”

Most people were afraid to even make eye contact with Carlix, but Director William just bowed his head politely with a smile.

“I feel a sense of responsibility that something unpleasant happened while I was away.”

The director raised his head and continued.

“I’ve put you in a lot of trouble again. I am always grateful to the Duke for protecting the Royal Library.”

I paused for a moment, then quietly took a step forward.

“Director William, right?”

William then turned his attention to me, observed carefully, and gave a surprised but happy expression on his face.

“Miss Erika Diel. I’ve seen you once when you were a kid, right?”

“I came here to ask the director for help.”

“The Archduke should also sit here.”

“Never mind. I hate boring tea time.”

Carlix flatly rejected William’s offer and looked out the window with his arms crossed.

Over the window, a string of light poured beautifully like gold, and Carlix’s figure underneath it was… angry, but dazzlingly handsome.

“No, according to my father’s will, he wanted to have a quiet family funeral. You don’t have to feel guilty about it.”

I already heard this story from my nanny because when I possessed Erika, Master Diel had already died.

William took a deep breath as if he were trying to calm down his exasperated mind. His attractive eyes turned red.

“The moment I saw Miss Erika, the only child he had left behind… I made up my mind.”

William suddenly rose from his seat and came in front of me. He looked me in the eye reverently, kneeling down.

William and Carlix spoke informally to each other.

“Are you two friends?”

The two men answered my question at the same time.

“Yes, that’s right.”

“A friend?”

I took a deep breath for a moment, and I said with strength.

“I want you to let me work as a librarian for the Royal Library.”

“Now, since you’re done talking, let’s go find the book, Miss Diel. I’m here to keep your promise.”

I inwardly cursed at Carlix for pushing me like a debtor. Why was he so impatient?

“What? Already? I just got a job as a librarian.”

“What’s the problem? You made a deal with me. You’ll find me a magic book in exchange for my help.”

Carlix said with a cheeky voice.

William, who was listening to our conversation, came out with a curious look.

“Wait, does the magic book mean the Lion’s Magic Introduction that Michael wanted to read?”

“Right, my brother visited the Royal Library twice to borrow the book, but it was still on loan. The strict terms of the wizard’s loan should also have a fixed loanable period.”

When Carlix spoke in a cold voice, William became truly apologetic.

“I’ll make sure to check it out. I’m so sorry. Why don’t you visit me again tomorrow morning? With the lender’s information remaining, you won’t have to borrow Miss Erika’s help.”

“I wasted too much time trying to find the book. How long am I supposed to wait?”

Carlix frowned and glared with displeasure.

William still responded with a gracious smile.

“Carlix, please understand. Erica, you must have had a hard time today, so we’d like to discuss this tomorrow. Please.”

There was an invisible spark between the two.
