See, you got 85 this time. How many times must i tell you not to hang out with that kid?
(Soobin) stepmother
It's all because of him. He's distracting you
(Soobin) stepmother
I only gave you permission to spend some time with him. But it isn't for always
Soobin
But mom, he's my friend. Seeing each other outside school is everything for us

I did give permission for that

But two times in four weeks?.. Don't you think this is getting out of hand?
Soobin wasn't happy. He understand his mother's concern, but it just isn't making any sense to him anymore. After spending time with his friends, he finally understands that Yeonjun isn't a bad guy

Let me tell you something Soobin. I'm just worried about you. I care about you, and that's why I'm asking you to stop this. Stop meeting them.
That was it. Soobin was so upset. He wanted to defend his friends. But he couldn't say anything to his mother

Even though she was his mother, those words made him so mad. He knows his friends. They're not like that. And Yeonjun has changed

Soobin was going upstairs after saying that, when his mother shouted back at him.

He's the reason you're failing the subjects. You are throwing away your life

I am throwing away my life? All you want from me are my grades so that you can brag about it

You don't even talk to me if i get a score lower than a 95. And you want me to spend the entire day and night studying.
Soobin
Do you know how much I suffer? I'm so stressed. I have dark circles under my eyes. I have to use make-up to cover it. And there's more, there isn't a single day I go without getting two to three nosebleeds. I take medication. Mom! I'm just 17, i shouldn't be depending on those
Soobin was on the verge of breaking down. Tears occupied his eyes

Soobin! Two to three nosebleeds are not supposed to stop you. It's no big deal. But you know what? If your grades aren't good, you won't have a future

You won't be able to live the life you're living now in the future. Just because you're living in luxury now, doesn't mean you'll live like this for the rest of your life. You have to inherit your father's business.. You need to be the best. Don't push us to shame
Soobin
Shame? Mom! it's just one paper.. You know that i won't let that happen

Don't you wanna live like this after you've fully grown up?
Soobin scoffed and answered

Live like this? No thank you. This life is like hell

Every other kid in my class go and have fun with their family and friends in the summer vacations, when i have to stay in my room and study every day

So let me tell you 'MOM' I don't wanna live like this anymore. No matter what you say, I'm gonna do whatever i wanna do from now on. Have some of that
Soobin air quoted the MOM part because she isn't his birth mother. He never took her as his real mom. His mother was in an accident and died when he was 6. His father got remarried and Soobin got a new mother.
After Soobin turned 14, his father left to America because of his job. And Soobin was left in the hands of his new mother
She turned into something he never knew. She turned into a whole new person after his father left. She was mean and would leave Soobin alone in the house and go hang out with her friends. But his father doesn't believe him when he told him how she was behaving. And because Soobin's father is very busy, Soobin get to see him for just a month. Hence, he learned to stay alone.
Anyway, after saying that soobin went upstairs to his room, closed the door and locked it
He finally broke down. After a few minutes of crying, Soobin called Yeonjun and tried his best to hold in the tears
Yeonjun
Hey Soobin, what's up?
Soobin knew that it would be best if he didn't tell anything to Yeonjun
And talking to a friend always helps him calm down
Soobin
Just bored, what're you doing?
Yeonjun
I was talking to hyuka. The boy is really excited
Soobin
why, what happened?
Yeonjun
His parents and older brother returned
Soobin
wow really? Is aunt okay?
Yeonjun
Yeah, he said she's fully cured. He must be so happy
Soobin was completely calm. Strangely, whenever he talks to Yeonjun, he feels relaxed and safe
Even though he had a fight with his mother, he was glad Hueningkai's mother was back and healthy
He stayed silent for a moment, and suddenly smiled
Soobin asked Yeonjun, hoping he would say yes

But i have to do my homework

No, no. I won't let you. I'm trying to change my attitude. So, no.
Soobin was silent. He was eager to leave the house.. And Yeonjun felt it
Yeonjun knows that Soobin's mother doesn't like Soobin hanging around with him. So he immediately understood that she had something to do with it. But Yeonjun didn't want to ask Soobin
Yeonjun
Okay fine. I'll finish my homework later i guess. What do you wanna do?
Soobin
I was thinking of going to that house. It's open tonight
Yeonjun
But we have to take Beomgyu, Huening and Taehyun too
Yeonjun said in a calm voice
(They have many nicknames for Hueningkai.. Huening, Hyuka, Kai)
Yeonjun
They need permission from their parents first dummy. And I don't think hyuka would want to go.
Soobin
I know. But I'll ask their parents, and I'll convince hyuka. So, will you come along?
Yeonjun
Okay fine, you're the leader. I'll be in the convenience store near your house. Meet me there, and we'll go get the others okay?
Soobin was happy that he can leave. And he was even more glad that he got to talk to Yeonjun. The harsh words his mother said about Yeonjun was all a lie. He's been having trust issues and many other things because of her. But this time, he was reassured again
Soobin would call Yeonjun every time he and his mother have a fight like that. Yeonjun's honesty and kindness makes him trust Yeonjun. But every time Yeonjun got too close, he would remember all those harsh things his mother has said about him, and Soobin would start to lose his mind
Yeonjun figured that out long ago. But he's still waiting for Soobin to finally open up to him and come right ahead and tell him everything.
Yeonjun also knew that Soobin calls him and ask him what he's up to, or 'lets hang' out because he had a fight with his mother, and he wanna leave the house
Yeonjun understands it too. He believes he's not the best person too
but he wants to be a reliable friend to Soobin.. Because Soobin is the only one who believed him when he was in need..Even after all the things he did to him, Soobin stood up to him. And now, Yeonjun wants to return the favour and stay by his side and be his friend forever
That's one of the reasons, why he stayed in korea

excuse me but even bullies have a reason y they bully ppl ..I'm not defending bullies here but he clearly apologized and even after 3 yrs still feels sorry for what he did ..
