Meeting the King (Zoe)

“I’m back,” said Bug, saluting the man in his bed.

“Ah, Bug, it’s good to see you for once in the light of day, rather than in the darkness of night,” he said, smiling at Bug, “You look so beautiful in actual sunlight, and who is this little one? He moved the table and began to get out of the covers.

“Close your eyes,” Bug whispered to me. I looked at her and then backed up to see… oh, so he was actually nude. I covered my eyes. “Told Ya.”

“This is my friend from my world. Turns out she was the one to arrive. Being honest, I didn’t expect her to arrive here. She’s Patches’s actual owner,” Bug explained, ''I suppose that that was one way to introduce me. Not a great first impression, though.

“She’s kinda cute when she’s embarrassed, just like you,” said the man. I felt Bug shift uncomfortably and I heard footsteps walking towards us. I could only imagine what she had done when she first saw the king nude. She probably didn’t have someone telling her to close her eyes. “I remember, the first time you saw my little John, you squealed like a little girl. I didn’t know that a man’s voice could get that high.” I felt Bug flinch below me. Why would she be flinching? “Plus, it makes me sad that you don’t want to come have sex with me. You, Patches, this little girl, and I are all soulmates, after all,” I felt a hand hold my foot. “Oh no, she's cut,” I felt a tongue lick my wound on my foot. It gave me shivers. I felt a quick and fluent movement below me as I twisted in the air. I heard an “oof,” and a thump on the floor.

“She just got here, you don’t just get to lick her feet,” said Bug, “I may be your knight, and I am eternally loyal to you, but I draw the line at doing that to my friend without her permission or consent.”

“Then why don’t you ever join me in bed, no matter how many times I invite you, if you’re so loyal to me?” he asked. I felt Bug flinch again. Was he touching her? It seemed like that was what happened last time… I was kind of curious about their relationship.

“Because, that is not something I am interested in. I don’t want to join you in bed and until you get my consent, that is also beyond the line. Nice try, King Benedict,” I heard Bug’s voice. Kida sounded like she was threatening him.

“Fine. I don't have a room for her right now though, so she’ll just have to share mine,” you could hear the taunt in his voice.

“Absolutely no way in heaven or hell,” Damn, rejected. Anyways, I was kind of glad to hear her standing up for me.

“Then what do you suggest, my knight? Your room is too small for the sweet little bunny rabbit,” said the king.

“I don’t care. I refuse to leave her here alone with you. I can sleep on the floor and she can have my bed,” said Bug, “ also, don’t ever call her a little bunny rabbit again.”

“Then how about we all share my bed tonight? Win Win Win,” suggested King Benedict.

“Nope. She’s slept in my room before, but I don’t trust her with you in any case,” said Bug, “especially at night.”

“C’mon, Bug, pleeease?”

“Nope.”

“Please?”

“Nope.”

“Ben, stop. Let the girls sleep together. Stop harassing Bug,” Patches jumped in, “although, I will admit, it’s kinda cute when you two argue, like a little couple’s squabble.”

“Did you just call me a girl?” asked Bug.

“I mean, sometimes you act like one,” shrugged Patches. Sounded like he made it an oopsie, but they could find a way to cover it. I could hear the two of them giggling.

“Fine. Dismissed,” Said the king. I felt Bug turn around and begin to walk away. As I heard the door close behind us, I uncovered my eyes.

“Was that the king?” I asked.

“Yes,” Bug sighed. “He confessed to me last week right before we went to the fortune teller. It was a little bit awkward, and when she said that not only were the two of us technically soulmates, but two others too? Now he’s been super clingy. I had to literally sprint for the door last time I was here so that I could head to the grounds where the fortune teller said you would be. I had to freaking fight my way out of the castle. We’re both probably lucky that I was able to escape. If I hadn’t escaped, he probably would have sent armed guards after you, and I would be stuck dealing with him here. He never sends me into danger anymore, it’s pretty boring here at the castle.”

“Well, it seems like he likes you, but do you like him back?” I asked.

“Let's talk back in my room. It’s probably safer anyways,” she said, heading for the door.
