School

The first thing I saw when I woke up was Catherine pouting.

"AAAPRILLLL! Why didn't you wake meeeee up? I would have liked sleeping with you!" Catherine complained still pouting.

I got up. Mom was there.

"April dear, did you have a nightmare?"

"Yeah," I mumbled.

"Are you ok? If you ever need to talk about it you have all of us" Mom said kindly.

I smiled grimly. The Juniper family was kind and all but I just came here a few days ago.

"Anyways we'll be having breakfast in a few moments so you guys can start getting ready, you too Cathy"

Catherine and I started getting ready. After we brushed our teeth we went downstairs for breakfast. Ezra, Dad, and Liam were already eating. Mom was making pancakes.

"April, Catherine, come here," Dad said.

"As you may know school is starting in a few days. (The kids were in spring break) So today we are going to register April in the same class as Catherine!" Mom exclaimed bringing the fresh batch of pancakes she just made.

"School? Which school is it?"

"It's River Styx Academy,"

'Why does that sound so familliar?' I wondered.

"Yay! Now I'll be able to talk with you in class time, play together, study, and copy hom- I mean- uhh- umm- copy notes together, yeah that's it. hehe" Catherine chuckled looking at mom nervously.

"It will be fun I guess," I shrugged.

'Haah,' I jumped on the fluffy bed. We've been doing a lot of paper works, buying materials, meeting teacher etc. it was so tiring.

"I can't wait for tomorrow! You'll be in the same class as me and I can introduce you to my best friend! It'll be soooo much fun!!!!"

"Yeah, can't wait," I nodded as I began to fall asleep. "Can't....wait"

The next morning was kinda a blur. Mom made us wake up quickly, get dress, and get us ready. Dad was cooking breakfast. The boys were already driven by the chauffer to school.

(And yes if I forgot to mention the Juniper are rich. They're the third richest family. They just like to do things themselves. Makes them feel more like a family. They're motto is you reap what you sow-author)

We got our materials for school ready and Dad drove us to school.

River Styx Academy was enormous. Imagine a castle combined with Hogwarts. River Styx was a really prestigous school for aristocratic family, they did also gave scholarships. RSA is a boarding school though most students live nearby so they're driven here. If of course you're from outer states, you could just live there.

I looked around while Catherine guided me to class.

"River Styx Academy is a school for kindergarden to 12th grade," Catherine explained in her best tour guide voice.

"Wait...so Ezra and Liam also goes here?"

"Yep,"

"Then why did they came earlier?"

"4th-8th grade have something called the Knowledge Check.

They pretty much have to do a test each time they come back from break to see if they remember stuff. Since first grade is more lenient we just do a 15 minutes questionaire in class time.

It's kinda like a jeopardy. We get put into two groups, answer questions, and stuff. The group with the most points win a movie in the school theater, snacks included. That way we don't have to wake up that early and it's fun!

We finally reach the classroom. Inside there were desks line up into three rows. If one would come in and look, they'll think this is more of a college than a 1st grade classroom.

"Cathy!" A girl with silvery hair waved.

"Gen!" Catherine ran over and gave her a hug.

"Gen, meet April. April, meet Genesis!"

The girl smiled. She was really pretty.

"Hi, my name is Genesis, as you know, nice to meet you!"

"My name is April" I replied returning the smile.

The three of us started talking. Pretty soon it looked like we've all known each other for years.

Just then the teacher walked in.

"Good morning everyone! I see everyone has gotten a great spring break! And if you haven't notice we have a new student with us today. Why don't you stand up and present to us who you are," Mrs.Violette proposed looking at me. She reminded me of a hummingbird bright, bubbley, and someone who talked pretty fast.

I stood up.

"Hi, my name is April." I started sit back down.

"That's it?" A boy with red eyes asked. I later found out his name was Dante.

"Umm,"

"So what if she doesn't tell more about herself? Dante don't be rude!" Genesis exclaimed.

Dante looked down as if ashamed of himself. (AS IF) And then later again (aka lunchtime) I learned Gen and Dante were childhood sweethearts so scoldings like that were normal.

"Anyways, shall we start our session of jeopardy? This time we'll do birthdays January through June will be one group and the July through December will be another group." Mrs. Violette told us.

I didn't know when my birthday was though.

I started to tense up. All of the sudden my knees wennt weak for a moment. Followed by a voice that said May 4.

'May 4th?'

I walked to the 1st group.
