Episode 3: Homeschooled

In the middle of the night, Wraya suddenly woke up to the noise of something coming from outside, so then she decided to check it from the window. As she walks to the window, she notices that sounds stop and that she only saw an owl; sitting on the tree. Later then, she chose to get back to bed as the owl stopped making noise, yet, Wraya couldn’t sleep even after attempting so hard to sleep also, all her tries didn't work, so then she reached out to her phone and text her friend Riva; about her reaching her home and about her joining the school in next upcoming days. Moreover, Wraya started feeling sleepy again after she used her phone for a few minutes. The next day, Wraya woke up late because she was sleeping late last night, but she got ready in the rush of asking her parents about starting school without having breakfast. When she goes to ask her parents about the school process, they tell her that " Wraya we have to head over to work now therefore, we will talk about the school later tonight. Also, that you need to learn to wake up early in the morning”. After hearing that from her parents, Wraya got a little disappointed in her lateness for waking up late. After, she says, “ Bye Mum and Dad and have a great day at work and come back soon”.

She heads to her room after her parents leave. When she gets back to her room, she sees that her room was dusty and untidy, and Wraya plans to clean the room before doing anything else. She took some hours to clean her room and tidying up her clothes in the closet by folding them nicely and neatly. After cleaning up later, she went downstairs to get herself some snacks to eat as she was tired due to the cleaning. Soon after, Wraya gets her computer and fixes it on the desk. Later, she uses it to research the school she will go to with her friend, Riva. When she finishes doing the research, she checks her phone if she got a text from Riva or not. When she found an unseen message from her, Riva said, “ Welcome to New York City Wraya, I’m hoping to see you at school after some days. Message me when you get a letter from the school!” Wraya got even more excited to go to school soon. Wraya replies with “ Riva, I’m so excited to start school with you but, I’m not sure if I will be able to get into school for some days as I might get homeschooled for the first few days”. She puts her phone in charge after sending the message to Riva.

Later, she played video games for the time being. When her parents came back from work, Wraya went to them after they got; fresh and were ready to talk about her school matters. Wraya says, “ Mum and Dad, when will I start school with Riva?” Her parents exchange their expressions. Then replies to her, “ Wraya, we are sorry that you can’t attend school now but will be homeschooled; until the school sorts out everything for you”. Wraya didn’t get upset because she almost got the idea; that she will homeschool for a few days. Afterwards, her mum asked, “ Are you okay with being homeschooled these days or, shall we change to another different school?”. Wraya was happy with being in school with her friend. Therefore, she didn’t have a problem being homeschool for some days. Wraya shakes her head to indicate that she doesn’t have a problem with it and is okay with it.

The next day was the first day for Wraya to start her online classes and get to know her teachers. Wraya wasn’t happy about the online learning as she couldn’t meet her friend in front or be in the classroom with her classmates. Furthermore, Wraya attends her classes on time and finishes her work given by the teachers; for Maths, English, Science. Soon after, Wraya gets a text from Riva saying, “ Wraya, my teacher told us about you (transfer student) and that you will be joining us after a few days and will be in our class. I’m so excited to see you in the classroom and hang out whenever we can!”. Wraya then quickly replies, “Yeah, I’m thrilled to come to school after this weekend and will be able to see you after so long”. They carry on chatting with each other.
