Sweet summer child?

Jayden's pov

I sat on a boulder of the ruined bridge, the waves crashing against it and spraying water at my face. I didn't know what else to do in this God forsaken place. And I don't want to go back there, the place reeking of that old people smell

But of course I have to, as I'm staying there and now it's too late. I got up and dragged myself as slow as possible.

...----------------...

I woke up feeling groggy, hearing the ruckus downstairs. I have a headache probably because I'm hella hangover from yesterday. I climbed downstairs, where my grand mother was addressing someone as her sweet summer child, excitedly.

For a moment I wondered if it's her, then I stopped. How could it be her? She didn't know my house, or maybe she somehow found out? I smacked my head. I'm such an idiot, it could never be her. Yet as I descended , I could feel my heart thumping against my rib cage.

Downstairs, a guy was standing, carrying a huge duffel bag. My grand mother was addressing him. But I don't get what makes her call him a summer child. He was at least half a head taller than me (and I'm not even short). He had multiple ear piercings .And his black hair had strands of purple and green. He wore a black leather jacket with spikes and a white top with the F word printed in large letters.

Nothing about him seemed summery. Just a stupid punk. He glanced over and spotted me. Our eyes locked, he seemed to be challenging me.So I didn't avert my eyes. Suddenly he turned and faced my grand mother. I went back up, but continued to listen.

Grand ma: Oh my sweet baby, I missed you

The guy : yeah but I missed you more.

Granma : Don't lie to my face, you didn't miss anything till your mother said.

The guy : Not true. I missed you every single day. Don't look at me like that!!! Okay I admit I didn't. But I did miss being here, and I did miss eating your food even if I didn't miss you

Grandma : Oh really? you little...

By that point I lost interest. I never had my grand mother treat me that way. To be frank, I've never seen her treat anyone that way. And she hates me as much as I hate her. So you could only imagine how she treates.

Now, she doesn't treat me like that, owing to the fact that my first film is out and she thinks I'm the lead. I didn't try to correct her, and she would never find out on her own as she doesn't watch movies. And why should I try to ruin the rarely received peace?

But I'm quite afraid if that guy tells her. I'm pretty sure he would know I'm not even near being famous. I mean I'm a bit known for my music, but barely hundred people will know me. Perhaps I should confront him first and stop him from telling her.
