Chapter 4

...Over a week had passed since Taehyung started living in Jin's apartment. The bedroom was empty and empty, the sun was just beginning to rise outside and a sound Taehyung was not used to filled his ears....

...There was music coming from the kitchen and a soft voice was singing along to the song. The mixed smell of coffee and eggs hit Taehyung's nostrils and his stomach growled when he realized someone was making breakfast....

...He sat up on the bed and finally realized he was in Jin's room and not his own. He'd gotten used to sharing the bed with the older, but since this was the first time he woke up alone, he completely forgot he wasn't at home anymore....

...He got up from the bed and made his way into the kitchen where he noticed a dark haired boy dancing and singing along to the song that was currently playing on the radio while making himself breakfast....

...This was a sight Taehyung hasn't seen in this apartment before, usually he was woken up by Jin shaking his shoulders and telling him he had to get up and by the time he made it to the kitchen Namjoon was already doing the dishes while a plate with his breakfast waited for him on the counter....

...''Uhm... Morning...'' Taehyung spoke up causing the boy to turn around and flash him a warm smile....

...This was definitely something Taehyung wasn't used to. Every morning while Jin would take a shower his roommate Namjoon would do the dishes and make breakfast. The pair of boys usually minded their own business and did their things in peace, only really speaking a few words before they would once again part ways to get ready for the day....

...''Oh, look who finally woke up.'' Hoseok replied as he walked over to the raven and ruffled his hair. ''Sit down, I'm making breakfast.'' He ordered, making Taehyung sit down at the counter and observe the older boy who started singing again....

...Hoseok was of Jin's other roommate; he was currently in his second year of film school. Taehyung didn't know much about him since he usually wasn't at the apartment, this was actually the first time he's seen the boy since he's moved in last week. Usually Hoseok was either already gone or on his way out when Taehyung would come back from school, but today Hoseok was still in pajamas, his hair was messy and he was taking his time with the eggs he was currently making....

...''Where's Jin?'' Taehyung asked once he realized they were the only ones in the apartment....

...''Oh, he and Namjoon had a morning class to get to so Jin asked me to drive you to school today.''...

...''You don't have any classes today hyung?''...

...''No, our teacher gave us another assignment due to next week and until then we're free.'' Hoseok explained as he placed the plate with the younger's food in front of him and walked around the counter to sit down next to him. ''I finally have time to properly greet you. How are you kid?''...

...''I'm okay, and you hyung?'' Taehyung replied; he wasn't used to Jin's roommates paying attention to him....

...''I'm pretty good.'' Hoseok replied. ''Sorry I haven't been able to sit down and talk to you, by the time you come home I'm usually already gone.''...

...''It's okay, you have classes.''...

...''So Jinnie told me you'll be staying with us, how come?''...

...''Uh... I got into an argument with my parents...'' Taehyung explained as he shoved the food into his mouth....

...''Oh, I know how that's like, but don't worry, they'll come around.''...

...''I hope.'' Taehyung replied with a sigh. In the past week that he's been staying here, he hasn't received any phone calls from his parents, not even a text message, maybe they've already forgotten all about him....

...''They always do.'' Taehyung just nodded and continued eating the food. He was hoping Hoseok would remain quiet for the rest of their breakfast, not because he didn't want to talk to him of course, he just didn't like it when people asked him such questions. ''What about school? You doing okay?''...

...''Could be worse or better, grades are average, friends... Under average, love life... non-existent...'' He replied earning a chuckle from the older....

...''Ah don't worry, it all begins in freshman year, new friends, new crushes, new love interests.''...

...''Did you mean freshman year of college or high school, because so far none of that has happened yet.'' Taehyung replied honestly earning another chuckle in response....

...''Don't worry kid, it will. You just have the take a few risks.''...

...''What do you mean by that?''...

...''Well, let's say you want to make some new friends, you can't just expect people to walk up to you and ask to be your friend, go out some, maybe go to a party have a few drinks, meet some people, make out with somebody. How do you think I met your brother.''...

...''You two made out at a party?'' Taehyung asked making Hoseok laugh and shake his head....

...''No, but I did find him a girl to score that night.'' Hoseok replied as he chuckled at the memory. ''But it wasn't until the third day of the freshman initiation that I actually remembered his name.''...

...''Good to know...'' Taehyung murmured, not sure how to react to the new information. He knew Jin wasn't the stay at home all the time and study type, but he didn't think Jin was the type to go to such things as freshman initiations either....

...''Don't tell him I told you that though, he has this thing about being a good role model to you.'' Hoseok added making the younger nod in agreement. ''Well I'm gonna get dressed, hurry up, we leave in fifteen.''...

...''Got it Hyung, thank you for the breakfast.''...

...''No problem!'' Hoseok shouted before he shut the doors of the bathroom shut. Taehyung quickly finished up his meal then placed their plates into the sink and walked back into his shared bedroom to get dressed....

...The apartment the three men and a teenager shared was not very big; it had one bathroom, three bedrooms and the main area. Before Taehyung moved in the three could manage just fine, they all had their own rooms and a bathroom they shared according to a well thought out schedule....

...But now that they got a new roommate, or as Namjoon joked and called him, a freeloader, the place was starting to get crowded....

...Jin's bedroom was a normal size, there was a double bed in the corner of the room, a dresser a few feet away from it, opposite of the bed was Jin's desk with all his books stacked on it and everywhere else where there was space, Taehyung's belongings laid scattered....

...He crouched down in front of the duffle bag, into which he shoved most of his clothes when he and Jin were emptying out his old bedroom, and took out a pair of jeans, a T-shirt and a hoodie....

...Once he got dressed, he took his school bag and left the bedroom in hopes that Hoseok was no longer occupying the bathroom. And for once luck was on his side, just as he closed the room of his bedroom Hoseok walked out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist....

...Taehyung quickly looked at the ground to hide his blush as the dark haired boy walked past him and hurried into the bathroom. Maybe he and Jungkook were alike after all, it was just that one was a mess around girls and the other was a mess around boys, but that was something Taehyung was not planning to tell his best friend, or anybody in general....

...Once Taehyung washed up, he waited for Hoseok to get dressed and after the pair left the apartment to get to school. The ride was quiet; Hoseok was humming along to the song that was playing on the radio and tapping his index finger onto the steering wheel along to the beat while Taehyung looked out the window his mind not present at the moment....

...''****...'' Hoseok's voice snapped him out of his thoughts and the car came to a stop. He looked away from the gray sky he was staring at the entire ride and looked over to the older....

...''What's wrong?''...

...''We should've left five minutes earlier, you might be a bit late because of the traffic.'' Hoseok explained as he glared at the traffic jam the pair was currently stuck in....

...''No math class for me today.'' Taehyung joked with a small smile on his face....

...''Don't tell Jin about this.''...

...''Got it.'' Taehyung replied with a chuckle....

...''So... What other typical question grownups usually ask a teenager they haven't seen in a while have I not asked yet?'' Hoseok joked making the younger hum as if he was deep in thought....

...''Well, there's always the girlfriend question.''...

...''Yeah I rather skipped that one, didn't want you to get upset.'' Taehyung's eyes went wide as he heard the older's reply....

...''U-upset?'' He repeated the word as he felt his heart speeding up....

...''Well yeah, you said it yourself, that your love life is nonexistent.'' Hoseok explained making Taehyung sigh in relief, he really needed to stop being paranoid. ''But hey just so you know, I get it, it's hard to find somebody when you're still not ready to come out.''...

...''W-what?!'' The raven shouted in shock. ''H-how do you... kn-know...''...

...''Jin may or may not have had your mother on speaker and I may or may not have been sitting next to him when she told him about what happened...'' Hoseok explained making the raven's cheeks turn bright red....

...''You know about...'' Taehyung murmured as he buried his face into his palms to hide from the embarrassment....

...''I'm sorry, it wasn't in my intentions to eavesdrop she just started talking without a warning and by the time she was finished both Jin and I were too shocked to do anything other than listen.''...

...''So he was disappointed...'' Taehyung murmured to himself....

...''No, no, shit I didn't mean it like that. It's just, it's not every day you hear something like that, we were surprised. But Jin doesn't care that you're gay, Tae, neither do I, in my opinion, love is love no matter the gender. So don't stress about it, okay? If your parents are that close-minded that they can't see you're still a normal human being, that you're still their son then just live with us until high school is over, I bet we'll take better care of you then your parents do.'' By the time, Hoseok was finished talking Taehyung felt tears building up in his eyes....

...''You really mean that?'' He whispered due to his voice being too shaky to speak normally....

...''Of course I do, we're family now kid.'' Hoseok replied with a warm smile, Taehyung couldn't hold back his tears anymore, he let a sob escape his lips as the tears started rolling down his cheeks. ''Hey it's okay, take it easy.'' Hoseok spoke in a soft tone as he rubbed the younger's back in order to calm him down....

...''So-sorry... I'm a bit of a crybaby.''...

...''It's okay, there's nothing wrong with crying, it's okay to let it out, I don't judge. Hell, I'm about to join in on the crying as well.''...

...''Why?'' Taehyung asked as he wiped his tears....

...''Because I'm starting to realize how much I suck at taking care of kids. In the past hour I've told you right about everything Jin told me not to tell you, I'm the reason you're going to be late for school and on top of it all I just made you cry.'' Hoseok replied making Taehyung let out a chuckle. ''You know what I take back what I said earlier about taking better care of you then your parents, you're about to spend the next three years living with two incapable dads and an absent mother.''...

...''Which one's the mom?''...

...''Namjoon.'' Hoseok joked making the pair chuckle again. ''But all jokes aside, let's not tell Jin how our morning went, deal?''...

...''Deal.'' Taehyung agreed as he wiped the remains of his tears away....
