Everybody settle down I want you to introduce a new student who will be joining our class. Everybody meet Luna Black.
teacher
So Luna why don't you introduce us to yourself.
Luna
Well I am Luna and I am a demi-human. I moved from the Netherlands to here in America.
teacher
Class are there any questions?
Bully
Yeah, did you get your rabies shot?
teacher
Settle down, Jack we talked about this do you want detention?
teacher
Any serious questions?
teacher
Okay you can sit down next to... Rose over there.
She goes to sit down next to me and class resumes.
Rose
What are you doing here?
Luna
Well if you had waited I would've said that I got transferred to this school.
Rose
Sorry I was in a hurry
Luna
Can I sit with you during lunch?
Rose
Luna meet Lynn. Lynn this is Luna.
Lynn
Hey, nice to meet you!
Lynn
So Rose you have to tell me what happened.
I tell her everything that happened today up until I arrived at school.
Lynn
Wow, you should consider yourself lucky that you came out of there unharmed.
Rose
luckily for me Luna came to my rescue.
Luna
Like I said it was nothing.
Lynn
Nothing! You beat up four adult men twice your size. Without even breaking out so much as a sweat.
Luna
Don't say that so loud. Demi-humans aren't allowed to hurt humans it's the law.
Rose
Even if those humans were gonna do something terrible?
Luna
Even then. But humans aren't allowed to hurt demi-humans and they ignored that fact.
Lynn
So doesn't that mean you were allowed to hurt them?
Luna
Well, they didn't hurt me. But they were gonna.
Rose
If they would've hurt you were allowed to hurt them back right?
Luna
No, I have to report it to the police.
Rose
But it would be too late already.
Luna
That's why I did what I did. I couldn't let you get harmed.
Lynn
Well I think they have to change that law.
Luna
Three people ain't gonna change that. Other humans find having that law quite handy so they won't give it up so easily.
Luna
Luckily I am not seen as a adult because demi-humans live quite longer than humans.
Luna
that means if I get caught fighting I will just get a warning.
Lynn
Wait you aren't seen as an adult?
Lynn
Are you allowed to drink?
Luna
No, besides we demi-humans have a much lower alcohol resistance. I would be drunk after one regular beer.
Rose
Then when are you considered as a adult?
Luna
Well, when I reach the age of 25 I am considered a adult.
Lynn
25! If I had to wait that long I would go nuts!
I give her a slight elbow in the stomach.
Lynn
Oh, eh nothing meant to you. I-I would go crazy if I were to wait that long to be considered an adult.
We chat for a while but the bell is going to go soon so we make it to our class.
After school I say goodbye to Lynn and walk home, but Luna happens to have the same route to home as I do so we walk home together.
Rose
What a coincidence that we have the same route to home and school!
Luna
Maybe we can walk together from now on.
Rose
Yeah I would like that.
Luna
Then it is settled. Can I get your number so we can text when we are ready to leave for school?
Rose
Yeah sure. Here you go.
I write my number on a note with my name on it so she doesn't forget.
Soon we get near my apartment but she is entering the same building.
Luna
I could ask the same question to you.
I soon figure out that we live on the same floor. Then I see that she lives right across me.
Rose
You are full of surprises today.
