“So tell me, why did you kill that man?”

“And what's in it for me if I tell you...huh?”

“Right about that, if you tell everything truthfully then you will be spared and won't have to stay here in the cell”

“Tell me something Mr Policeman, do you believe in righteous judgement? ”

“Yes, I do since I’m a police officer....”

“I see”

“But why do you ask me that?”

“Didn’t you want to know if I killed him or not?”

“umm....”

“You see I’ll tell you this much for now that I didn’t kill that man,

I didn’t even know him and you can even check my call history or

anything you want, you have known me since childhood why won't you

believe me?”

“We didn’t meet for 6years and I don’t what you have been up to so I

can't say that I trust you since I didn’t know you for that long, time

changes everyone you know”

“I...I have nothing to say to that”

“I see, so would you continue with what you were saying?”

”I~”

Life is not good for all people, I’m one of those unlucky people.

I had a perfect life until I turned 8, my mom and dad got divorced

and my mom married a new guy. I had made a mistake of choosing my mom

and not my dad...I often wonder if I had chosen dad would my life been

much simpler and better? But then if I went with dad I wouldn’t have met

him.

My name is Watanabe Reo. I have this best friend who always treats me

gently when I have scars that I get from my step-father every day, his

name is Kobayashi Asahi. My best friend who I had gradually fallen in

love with and I was sure that if I told him he would still be my friend

and not be like most of the other people(like spreading rumours). I had

gathered all my courage to tell him, but once I see his smiling face I

get so nervous that I can’t tell him and I end up telling him that I was

just fooling around.

Right now I’m at his house sitting right next to him and playing

video games, he is too close, I can smell the shampoo that I had given

to him. Summer vacation rocks man!

“Hey, I know I’m handsome but if you don't focus on the game you’re gonna lose, you know”

“You and handsomeness are worlds apart dude”

“Yeah, yeah but the popularity of mine in school says it all”

“Right”

GAME OVER

“Looks like I won again”

“That’s not fair, even though you were not concentrating on the game you still won, are you sure you’re a human Reo?”

“What else would I be? Look at the time, I need to go home now, see you later”

“Bye”

That was the last time I saw him, the 17th summer. I had spent the

entire time with him playing games and reading mangas. I never knew what

horrors were there after I left his home that day. I enjoyed it while

it lasted and hence starts our story.
