Golden Lotus and The Enchantress

Six months flew by in a moment and with the alliance I could rest assured that demons could harm no one. This is time for treasure hunt for my pretty little sister. I received the letter even though I was in the elf kingdom. Her tracking power is quite handful. She sent me the location of the golden lotus.

It is located near an ox-bow lake created by a shooting star hundreds of years ago. The problem is that as many adventurers visited there never lived to tell the tale in this few months. I thought only few people knew about the golden lotus, but the rest of the letter made it clear that only she knew about the location but not for long. The people who went to find the golden lotus recently were scouts of her.

I di not understand what she meant that the location was going to be leaked. I had no choice but to sneak out like last time but I had to escape eyes of the elf king too. I left as soon as the moon rose up and made the biggest mistake.

“Going somewhere kid?” “Your majesty?”

“No need for formalities but you need to remember that nothing should happen to you or it would hurt my daughter.”

“I do appreciate for your concern but even something happens to me I have to do this.”

“I can just give you a help. Don’t go too close to the lotus and just use the water of the lake for healing and in limited quantity or you might die.”

“I will keep it in mind, master.”

“Have safe journey.” He bid me farewell.

I reached the guild to report that I needed to meet Ahjeel. I chose him because the guild would know his location. He was the only one who I could trust to work on my commands. Till that the guild gave me an official statement that I was gold stage 2.

I realized something that people were staring at me. I did not realize what was happening with me. I checked myself, Dragon transformation done, swords done, mask? Crap. Everybody knows how I look. I rushed and wore the mask. I checked around and using my speed I deleted my picture from everybody’s mobile.

“That was a close call wasn’t it kid?”

“You just know how to make jokes guild master.”

“Learnt from you who could not even remember to put on a mask today.”

“Any new updates on demon’s?”

“No but I have something new.”

“What do you mean?”

“You were finding Ahjeel? He is leading a vanguard of dwarves toward a lake to find a lotus it seems.”

“Crap, I am late.” Rin warned me. “What do you- wait don’t leave yet.”

I left in a hurry and reached the forest surrounding the lake but something felt off. The more steps I took the more harder it became to move forward like it was a test to reach something invaluable oblect. I used my mana to reinforce my body along with the dragon form. I could move out of the first test.

I realized that many people had gathered near a place filled with bamboo stick. In that crowd I moved around to find Ahjeel and his group. At last I could only find him but none of the other dwarves. They got stuck in the first test.

“Why is not anyone willing to go ahead?”

“Who would go to that death place?” Ahjeel seemed upset.

“What do you mean?”

“Don’t know but few people who entered that place are dead.”

“Yeah I can smell a faint smell of fresh blood.”

“Now what do you think about it?”

“Something that will make things fun for me.”

“Dude you are insane. Not even our powers can cut through the bamboo forest.”

“I don’t suffer from insanity, but enjoy every moment of it.” And gave a glare of excitement to him.

“You sure? Then go in. Everybody here needs a motivation to go in. Oh right the population here is only five percent of all the people that entered the first test.”

“These hundred people?”

“Shocked?”

“Yeah.”

“You are alone too. How many people did you loose?” “I came alone.”

“Yeah why are you looking for the golden lotus?”

I tried to come with a satisfactory answer but at last I said it was to cure my broken mana core. Luckily he did not pry any deeper into me.

“I am going to rush in as soon as nobody has there eyes on the track.” “Fine on my signal.”

I went a few steps back and on his signal I rushed into the bamboo forest without anybody realizing it. As soon as I entered a mist blocked the way ahead and it was hard to see what followed ahead. Somehow this presence was familiar but I did not get it how. It could not affect me for some reason but I was glad that something good is happening today or it would be a disappointment for me.

Without going any deeper I returned and told that it was nothing serious but a mist. He obviously did not believe me this once, so I insisted him to do a piggyback ride throughout the second test. Few people saw that we were going in and started to laugh at our method or to tease that dwarves were coward and were always using humans as bait. I death glare was enough o make them shut their garbages because it stinked.

As we entered the mist became thicker and almost caught me off guard. It was making me clumsy for some reason. I can’t sleep, I need to help sis to recover. I spoke to myself. Crap again.

“Ahjeel don’t sleep or you will never be able to live another day.” “Ehh.” He said and was about to fall asleep.

I had no choice but to put him down and slap him twice.

“Could you atleast stop mana fusion with your hand while slapping?” “I never fused it or your head would be rolling somewhere else.” “You are too cruel for a friend.”

“If you have energy to talk then you should walk on your own.” “I will pass the offer.”

“Good, hold me tightly or you might feel your bones cracking.”

To slash open the path I used the mana in my hands to change its nature in wind and cut the entire path. My wind blade slashed through the mist but I realized that we were never in the bamboo forest. We

were circling in an open field just few hundreds of meters away from two giant boulders from where I could smell water.

“The smoke is coming from that direction too you know.”

“You scared?” I asked.

“Not with you.”

“I think we are soon meeting with an old acquaintance of mine.” “Is he good?”

“I am talking about a stage two beast.”

“Wow you have a friendly beast who is at stage 2?”

“Yes, but looking at the situation I think it is going to go for a kill.” “You kidding right?” he froze

“No, I can feel the blood lust it has towards me.”

“What did you do to make it angry?”

“Maybe indirectly killed its descendants.”

“I am leaving.”

“Knew you would be scared.”

“W-who is scared moron?”

“Ok I am rushing in.”

“N.n.n..nooooooooooooooooo” I rushed behind the boulders.

There stood a beautiful white fox with nine tails. It had red fur at the end of its tail.

“Why do you keep messing with my babies?” “You can talk? It seems you grew up pretty well.”

“You are one o talk after letting twenty people near the lake and to kill me too.”

I looked around and realized out of hundred only twenty were alive and one of them was a similar face.

“Aren’t you the same kid who joined after we did?”

“Yeah, I defeated an gold stage 1 master.” He boasted.

“You look somewhat like the last vice-president.”

“You are good to be able to figure out my identity. I am going to kill the person named Frey after I take the Golden Lotus for my father.”

“I will never let you heal that scumbag. He deserves it.”

“You are courting death” the fox and the scumbag spoke in unison.

“Bring it on.”

The speed of fox was faster than me and it killed ten people in one leap and took out one hand of the scumbag. He started to panic and started

to attack others so that he could escape from the turmoil. He ran from this place as fast as he could after killing four people so that the fox could prey over them.

I could not use any stage of dragon force or I would die immediately. Then I felt a familiar voice talking me to stalk the fox for few seconds.

“You grew into a stage 1 beast huh?” I trolled the fox. “How did you know?” my fluke came true.

“How is it possible? Only beast king can be at stage 1.” “You don’t now how high the skies are do you?”

“No but it means there are many beasts like you?” “No I could become one because of the you.” “Me?” I asked.

“Yeah the very thought of tearing you apart gives me chill to my heart. You gave me goal and because of you making me flee from that village I treated all my injuries here and waited for you.”

“You knew about my mana core?”

“Yeah but enough with the chat and lets tell you that the golden lotus will not go anywhere.”

“Don’t take life so serious, it is not as if you were going to live any longer.” I smirked.

“Huh?”

From the air a large beast dived and tore the fox in pieces.

“A stage 2 beast? A dragon?” Ahjeel fell o his knees after seeing Destiny.

In a moment Ahjeel fell unconscious. Had to do a favor for him. I filled a bottle of water from the lake and wrote an instruction for him to follow and gave him a farewell as I asked Destiny to send him to the capital city of Dwarf kingdom.

“When do you plan to come out? Now it is only us.”

“How did you know that I had cast illusion?” the fox asked while grunting.

“I heard you’re a player. Nice to meet you, I’m the coach.”

“I know that I am speaking to your illusion but lets be frank and show our true selves.”

“Why should I trust a trickster like you?”

“I have used too much of mana and am about o die of drinking too much of this water and I have a cub in my belly that you might want.”

“Seems fair.” I said and made my illusion disappear.

“Promise me that you will help my child to grow and will never let your beast kill it.”

“I swear in the name of my sister that I would give it to my sister to handle your kid.”

“I Believe you.”

“I just left for a moment and you are trying to take all the credits to the fullest while colluding with that bitch.” A voice came from above as the scumbag launched a fire arrow at me.

I was not good to avoid an attack given in surprise but the fox took the hit. I had no chance of saving the fox but I could kill that bastard.

“Don’t, first save the kid.” The fox panted.

I tore her belly and saved the cub and fed it few drops of lake water and the wounds on it started to heal. The bastard’s luck that he could run away. I swore that if he would come in my grasp ever again, he would die a miserable death.

“Master did I miss something?”

“Destiny you are here at perfect time. Wait weren’t the people of the kingdom of dwarves scared of you?”

“No, I had the pact symbol to show that I am a tamed beast.” “Pact symbol? Where?”

“On your back part of the palm, where I bit you.”

“No matter now-“

“Wait there is a cub of that damn enchantress. Let me complete the job.”

“No, it is a present for my sister.”

“Jeez, you want to give your sister a beast that is equal to me.” It seemed disappointed.

“Have a problem?” I let murderous aura loose. “Sorry master I will never do it again.”

“Good to know that you still remember your position after becoming a stage 2 beast.”

“Master what should I do?”

“Take this cub and my bag home and tell everybody that I will not come home for a while, I have some unfinished business.”

“Sure master but should I come to find you after delivering these things?”

“No. Teach the fox to grow and protect my sister. You will not come to find me. I will come to you when the time is right.”

“Fine by me, but can I beat it once in a while?”

“I think you don’t want my sister be happy.” I smirked.

“No master that was not my intention.” He said and left with my bag and the enchantress.

Now I just had to figure out how to get the golden lotus to treat my wounds. The fox told me that its water could not cure my mana core before it died. It is somewhat challenging that I had to get the Lotus

without getting too close to the water around it. It was rather easy if I thought for few minutes.

First I used half of my mana left to make them into a huge wings of fire with combustion power to lift me up. I stood on top of the lotus by hundred meter. I used the rest of my mana to make it into a wind rope that could pluck the lotus.

The lotus was binded with the rope and I just had to take it before the water starts the explode on me. Wait why does it feels like the lotus was going inside the water. I tried to pull it but my mana was getting pulled with it inside. To escape I left the mana thread and tried to fly but four dragons appeared in the form of water.

They bashed their heads at me together and pulled me into the depth of the water. The whole place was pitch black with only a faint light. I stretched my hands towards that light and the lotus formed on my hand. Slowly it turned into a ball of light and disappeared after going to my blind spot, on my back.

As soon as it disappeared my mana core was repaired, no it was strengthened several thousands of times. I could use the dragon force stage 2 maybe hundred times a day before my mana core had a dent. It makes me invincible but I realized that I had to go home and prepare for entrance examination for a magic school. I am still 8 years old though, the entrance was allowed only when we were 10 or above.

As I came on shore I realized that I was in middle of a huge crater instead of a ox-bow lake. It was more of a surprise that there were many archeologists here doing some research here.

“Hey kid don’t you know that this is a not a place to enter for normal people? Even more to it, how are you even alive while staying inside that water even for a second?”

“First me, where am I?”

“This is a place where the golden lotus was found three years ago.”

“Three years?” I was left dumbstruck.

“Now how are you here?”

“I have nothing to say.” I left as fast as I could.

I was in that place for three years? Wait now I realized what that water did. It hampers the age of people. Three years passed but I am still 8 years old. But my clothes are somewhat smaller for me to wear now. I rushed at home.

“Kid who are you? How did a beggar like you enter this place?” “Aunt, your temper is still the same I see.”

“It’s impossible, you died three years ago.”

“I never died.”

“What is with your hair, you are not Frey. You are just a con who wants to live life in pleasure using his identity.”

I realized that I was still in my dragon form, with white hair and golden eyes. I turned of my form and showed her who I really was.

“You are really Frey.” Uncle rushed out and crushed me in his arms but my body was way stronger than before.

“Uncle, how is my sister? Did she get cured after drinking few drops of water that I sent?”

“Ohh, about that. I did not know how much I had to give her so I gave her the entire bottle you sent.”

“God, it was 25ml medicine bottle. You just had to give her two drops.” “Yeah, we realized it after she became of your age.”

“What?”

“She is 11 years old.”

“Wait I am still 8 because of that water.”

“You should look at the mirror, you are 11 for sure.”

Did the lotus help me to counter the age change. I am glad.

“But where is she?”

“She has gone to the blaze academy of magic. Tomorrow the school is starting and if you want to join you should go today to the school.”

I changed as fast as I could and used my dragon transformation to keep a distance from my sister to protect her. It felt better without mask. I left as fast as I could so I could submit my admission form.

“If you want to join the academy you should first test your mana nature and your mana capacity.” The principal said feeling excited for some reason.

I took the mirror sphere which gave me. The sphere started to glow but did not show any color.

“I have never seen an incident like this. People who don’t have nature are failures and they don’t make any single light, but it does not glow. Do your mana capacity test.”

I placed my hand on the stone tablet and tried to compress my mana so she does not feel that I am a monster. The numbers started to appear. It showed 5976 mana. The principal froze, I don’t know from disappointment or excitement.

“Kid, you can choose whichever class you like and even if you don’t come for class I will pay you money but choose this school.”

“What happened?”

“You beat the record of mana capacity from all the magic schools. The highest was 5975 from this school. She is our school’s belle or you could say flower.”

“I am not interested, I just want to know about a girl called Cassy.” “Oh what coincidence, she is the school flower.”

I started curing that enchantress in my mind.

“She is second year at being at the age of eleven but she is almost strongest person we had before you. I will let on a secret that she could be better but the memory of his dead brother lets her off the rails.”

“Let me give you a secret of mine, I am still alive.”

“Wait your name is Gray isn’t it, don’t tell me you are the same person?”

“Welcome to the world of confusion.”

“Do you have a house nearby or would you choose to stay at our dorm?”

“Dorm” I chose because I did not want to waste five minutes to go up and down.

“Do you feel fine if you are paired up with a dwarf or elf?” “Can I stay with my sister?”

“Girls dorm are different but she does not stay at dorm. Your uncle has bought a house for your sister and your cousin sister beside the school.”

“Ok, I will live with them once my identity is exposed. For now I would stay in the dorm.”

“Good because you have been paired with a prince who will arrive tomorrow.”

“I am going back to pack my stuff.”

“It will take an hour if you want to return home now.” “No worries.”

I left happily to pack my stuff. While coming back to fit in the dorm I saw few rich kids bullying someone. It was Ahjeel. They were bullying him because he was a dwarf and my temperament went loose.

“Hey guys is there some place for me to join?” I entered with a wooden stick.

“Hey kid piss off.”

I swung my staff on his hand and he flew to the nearest wall while his hand was completely obliterated along with my staff.

“Jeez thing are so fragile.” I was disappointed.

“How dare you? Do you know who I am?” the richest looking arrogant bastard asked.

“Bullying people is not allowed no matter who you are.” Arthur stepped in.

“I am from the Blake family.” He boasted.

“Never heard of it.” I said and was just about to slap on his face but somebody caught my hand from behind.

“Long time no see.” A girl smiled behind me.

“Leave my hand and I don’t know you.”

“Oh right in your disguise who will not be able to identify you.”

“Who are you?” I asked because I could not remember a girl with black eyes and hair and someone with the same characteristics.

“Hey don’t ignore me.” The arrogant bastard spoke.

“Let me remove you from this school.” I spoke “My father is the shareholder of this academy.”

I called the principal and asked her to expel these arrogant bastards. She hesitated so I just had to give her a push.

“Don’t you want me in your school?”

“Done, anything else?”

“No, thank you.”

“How dare you? Now I will send you flying to that mountain” he pointed at the closest mountain.

“Which mountain?” I asked. “Are you blind?”

I used dragon force second stage and picked up a stone and threw it towards it.

“You are mad. You think you can make that mountain dis- appearrrr.” The whole ground shook as the mountain was utterly destroyed and a path was made from the position I stood as the force I used on the stone was overwhelming. The stone I threw was destroyed before it touched the mountain.

I smirked while looking at him. The entire dorm mates gathered to see the miracle but before they could gather I disappeared with Arthur, his sister and Ahjeel.
