Red velvet cake
It was New Year’s Eve. Alice was going to host a small get together at
her apartment the very next day. And she was checking the list of
items she needed to bring from the grocery store.
She didn’t want to shop today but had to drag herself out of her bed.
She was craving for that mouthwatering red velvet cake, she had bought
the day before. She checked her fridge and found that she had finished
it already. That cake was like a drug. So intoxicating!
“I wonder what they put in there”. She said.
After dressing up, she went outdoors and looked at the sky. It was a
beautiful day but the sky was dark. It was snowing. She held out her
palm and captured a snowflake and smiled.
“It’s chilly today.” She thought while sitting on her bike.
Nevertheless she rode towards her favorite mysterious bakery. Yes, a
mysterious bakery. Because all the cakes baked there, were only dyed
in red. And their taste, oh their taste was so mouthwatering. You
could feel your tastebuds lighten up. Whenever Alice had bought a
cake, she was never disappointed. The cakes were moist, tender and
juicy.
She had tried several times to ask for the recipe but was given a cold shoulder.
Alice walked up to the bakery and went in. The bakery’s interior was
decorated with everything in dark red. The more you look at it, the
more you get attracted. It almost looked like blood.
She had ordered two red velvet cakes. She picked them up and left the
store. She was about to go when she heard some noise. She followed
that noise and saw that it came from the back door of the bakery.
Alice walked quietly and placed her bakery items on her bike.
“This might be my lucky day. I should check for their recipe. Maybe,
they won’t mind sneaking.” She thought.
She sneaked through the back door after parking her bike a little far
from the bakery so that no one will notice. On entering, she found
that the bakery was dimly lit. She walked cautiously forward. Looking
for the recipe. She checked several items on the tables. They were all
the usual stuff which were used in all cakes. Thinking this, she felt
that there’s no use to come here. She should go back home.
