Episode four: Recruits

Damian is now the newest as well as the youngest High Captain of the apostles and is now ready to begin work. His first line of duty? Recruitments!

"I need to create a reliable team now, a team that'll be useful in aiding me against Draco"

Instantly he remembers Fernando Kalahari, his cousin, he wonders what it'll take to bring him over to his side, but nothing comes to mind.

"Perhaps next time we meet I'll be able to convince him. For now let's see how I'll get stronger, for my strength right now is not something to be proud of. I wonder if the "Apostles" are the only monster hunting group out there. It's not possible is it?"

"Sir!" yelled a Captain, one of Damian's subordinates. "We have a dungeon quest! We seek your immediate attention!"

"I'm on my way" replies Damian

It is a dungeon in the middle of a highway and it has caused a major traffic jam.

"What's the estimated difficulty of the dungeon" asks Damian.

"It's a 3.5 sir!"

"A 3.5?" asks the confused Damian.

"Yes sir!"

"Explain" request Damian.

"Sir, dungeons are ranked from 0.1 - 5. Dungeons from 0.1 to 1 are considered almost harmless and newly awakened can handle such dungeons. 1.1 till 1.5 are more dangerous, recruits are recommended for such dungeons, 1.6 to 2 are considered a minor threat, citizens are at a serious threat, 2.1 to 2.5 are considered a major citizen threat, 2.6 to 3, threat to the city likely to 30% of the city could be destroyed, 3.1 to 3.5 total city annihilation 3.6 to 4 refers to the country at risk. 4.1 to 4.5 is a threat to the continent. 4.6 to 5 is considered a threat to human kind in it's entirety."

" I see" replied Damian. "So this dungeon is a bug deal eh. And from what I can see, there are 8 captains and 4 high captains, I assume each high captain brought along two captains, you're one of my captains and where's the second?"

"Hey!" yelled an adorable young girl about 14 years old. "New guy! You're my superior?! The newest high captain eh, they say you're capable, but I don't buy it. You look like one of those useless scum."

"Ah, an arrogant one." replied Damian "Let's hear you introduce yourself miss."

"Humph! My name is Aria! That's all you need to know, "High Captain"!

"Very well, I am called Damian, you are permitted to call me by name."

"Fellow high captains!" exclaimed a one if the high captains. " For those that don't know me, I go by the name Sebastian. As you all know there is a dungeon that has recently opened on a high way and is causing serious a serious traffic jam. In about half an hour monsters would begin pouring out of the dungeon, I was assigned by Lord Gracia to rally three other high captains, myself included to tackle this issue. High captains, Damian and Krill will come with me along with their subordinates into the dungeon. High Captain William, please stay outside and guard the city in case we can't clear the dungeon before the time is up."

"I will do as you please" replied William.

"Let's go." Said Sebastian.

The dungeon looked like a large dark purple portal. It was about 15 feet high and exuded a terrible aura.

"I've been in this city for a long time and I've never seen this before" said Damian. "Why so?"

"And yet you're a high captain." replied Aria. "Does the lord not realize that it takes more than strength to handle the post of a high captain?!"

"Enough of that Aria!" barked Sebastian "He remains your superior wether you like it or not. You insult the high captains by your behavior."

"S-s-sorry sir" mumbled Aria.

'Hmm' thought Damian 'So she can be humble, perhaps to get her to be so humble before me I'll need to show her how scary I can be. Let's have fun like the old days shall we.' he gives a mischievous smile.

"Damian" says Sebastian "You've been living outside our world, that's why you haven't noticed it before. Unless you are declared an Apostle you will never be able to see it, as it stands, the second we stepped in here, the gate closed and currently cannot be opened until the dungeon is cleared. One can neither enter or exit it. Although I heard from Kruger, my subordinate that t

you entered his dungeon midway and even defeated the beast he was battling, tell me, how did you do this?"

"I walked." replied Damian.

"Ah, you do not wish to reveal your secret?" asked Sebastian "It's fine."

'What secret, it was probably sheer luck.' thought Aria 'This guy is as useless as they come'

"ROOOAAAARRRRRR!!!!!!"

"What was that?" asked Krill "Prepare for attack!"

'Perfect' thought Damian to himself 'Let me show these flimsy subordinates what I can do now, I'll make them fear for their lives!''

The monster broke through the walls of the dungeon and stared at them with eyes filled with rage.

"It's a guardian!" yelled Sebastian "Second only to the dungeon boss! Prepare for attack! It'll be a tough one!"
