Intruder or not...

I looked up shaking to see that Alfie was hugging the person. For a moment I couldn’t understand it. Then he moved his hands and I could see the face of the person. A young black haired women, with dark brown eyes and a light tanned skin stood in the hallway. She gave me a warm smile and came over as she hugged me tightly.

“Mum! You almost gave me a heart attack!” I said breaking the silence.

“How did I know that Alfie would be here” she said laughing.

“Sorry Stacy but you know Jason here, I am his bestfriend after all” he said pulling me close to him. I don’t know why but that sort of stung slightly.

“Actually mum, I have something to tell you” both my mum and Alfie looked equally as intrigued, “Alfie isn’t my bestfriend. He’s my boyfriend” I said nervously.

“About time” she said hugging both me and Alfie.

“What” I said confused.

“Baby I have known for a while, Alfie is the one who organised my trip. It wasn’t for business” she said laughing.

Still confused I looked at Alfie, who was know blushing.

“Sorry J but I wanted to do it privately and I asked your mum if it was okay and she agreed so she went and yeah...” he nervously explained.

“Was there anyone who didn’t know?” I said sarcastically.

“Nope” Alfie said happily.

“You tricksters!” I said dumbfounded at how they had all managed to put this together without me even realising. “You are sneaky” I said to Alfie as he came over and hugged me from behind.

“Actually that does remind me, you guys are both invited to a BBQ around mine tonight. My parents want to celebrate” he said chuckling.

“They know as well!” I exclaimed.

“Well yeah, who did you think I called the morning after I had asked you out?” He questioned.

“I don’t know I just assumed it was a friend” I replied sincerely.

“You are just so cute!” Alfie said as he kissed my cheek. It sort of felt embarrassing in front of my mum.

“You guys get a room” she smiled, “you make me feel lonely” she said laughing.

“Don’t worry Missis S we will find you someone” Alfie said supportively.

“Well you guys get ready and I will take my case up”

My dad had passed when I was young so it was always just me and my mum. Didn’t mind she was amazing. We had always been really close to each other, and of course to Alfie she was basically his second mum. He always used to come up with stupid nicknames but finally decided to call mum missus S. she loved it, she said it made her feel young so I didn’t mind.

We started college that year and though we had separate lessons we would always find each other at lunch. He was amazing. We went on so many dates I had lost count, every moment I had spent with him by my side. I honestly couldn’t believe how unbelievably lucky I was to have him in my life. I felt my words were never enough so I would always try to show him in any way possible.

I was intoxicated by him, his touch even his scent. When he wasn’t near me I felt so lost. He was truly my other half. My mum had always said ‘oh to be young and crazy in love’ but he was different that just some stupid young love. He was everything, my obsession my desire.

Of course it wasn’t always merry and beautiful, at times the pain of others hurt us, especially me.

A few months after dating...

His name was Harry, he was a close friend of Alfie. They had a lot in common and they had the same lessons. Of course I thought nothing of it because I knew Alfie loved me so much. I was happy that Alfie had friends, but in all honesty he always had friends. He would never be lonely. That’s always what I had thought.

It was just a regular Wednesday and I had just finished my lesson. I went to go and meet Alfie outside his lesson when I turned into the corridor on the way and was approached by Harry.

“Hi Harry” I said sweetly.

“Shut up!” He said abruptly. “Listen you need to leave Alfie, now!”

His words cut me, I could feel my eyes stinging and wanting to cry. I held it back and bite my tounge.

“What?” I stammered.

“Break up with Alfie. I can make him so much happier than you can. You don’t deserve him” he said.

Now placing his arms around my head. I began to sweat, I had never been good at confrontation. I couldn’t even think straight. My heart was beating out of my chest, I could hear it in my throat. My hands were shaking. I was so scared and yet I was furious at his words. Finally i was able to speak.

“Get off of me!” I yelled. Catching the attention of others walking by. “Alfie is my boyfriend and I will not give up on him” I declared.

“You selfish bastard! I am better than you! I love him more than you. We are better together than you and him” he shouts at me punching the wall next to my head catching my ear slightly. He grabbed my collar and pulled me close to his face. “He will be mine” he grunted.

“Get the **** off me” I shout pushing him back.

“You little shit” he yelled punching my stomach. Clutching myself in pain I fell to the floor. “That will teach you! Bastard!” He said kicking me harder.

“Alfie. Help me!” I cried.

My body screamed all over and my vision became fuzzy. There was now a group of people who had formed around me and Harry. That’s when I heard his voice.

“Jason!” It screamed.

I felt myself falling into an unconscious state but could still hear everything. My body stung and ached everywhere. I managed to move my hand towards the voice that I know belong to Alfie and grab his arms. I let out a soft smile.

“Guess you really are my hero now” I said weakly.

Alfie’s eyes glossed over. But the anger was more pro dominant on his expression. He stood, everyone’s eyes on him or me. People had begun filming. I felt like such a disgrace.

“Who the **** did this!” He yelled.

Everyone froze in fear. Even myself, after all these years of knowing him I had never seen him so angry. Some people point to Harry who was now standing in shock. Harry was shaking more obviously now.

Alfie then said “You did this to him?”heartbroken by the betrayal of his new friend.

“It’s not what you think” Harry pleaded as he looked into Alfie’s menecing eyes. “It was Jason he was bad mouthing you, he kept saying all these horrid things and I couldn’t stand it so I hit him to the floor. It was all for you.” He begged.

Alfie looked over to me meeting me dead in the eyes and smiled. He picked Harry up by his collar throwing him against a wall. He punched his face and kept doing it.

“First you hit my love, then you lie to me” Alfie shouts. “If I ever see you again, I will kill you!”

With that he dropped Harry and let him fall to the floor. He came over to me and held me in his arms. He was so warm, I could feel his heart pounding. That must have been so hard for him. I felt so guilt I begun to cry not because of my pain but for what I had caused him.

“I am sorry Alfie” I cried.

“Why are you sorry?” He said moving my hair from my eyes and kissing my forehead.

He had carried me all the way to the medical room and placed me on the small bed and spoke to the medical staff in the college. He sat with me holding my hand as the women checked over my body. Removing my top she saw the love bites that where all over my chest. I felt myself burn a bright red colour. I sensed that she felt my embarrassment as she also blushed. Alfie sat there with his smuge look on his face.

“Well there will be some bruising on the ribs and the face but nothing is broken, just take it easy” she said to us.

As we left to go home, Alfie scooped me up in his hands and carried me out the office.

“I can walk you know” I said to him blushing.

“This is better” he replied. “ I love you J”

“How did you know he wasn’t lying?” I said suddenly.

“I could tell, by looking into your eyes. Your eyes have never lied to me. After all the years I have known you. I would have known straight away” he said smiling.

I blushed at his words. And cuddled up to his chest. He carried me to the car that had been called for me. He put me inside and kissed me goodbye.
