Chapter 4: What's wrong with my heart?

Lane and the bodyguards entered the company building.

Lane was nervous... reasons for his heart to be quite loud and have an irregular beating.

*footsteps of people walking

* the people in the office were walking, chatting and some were busy typing

*some people stares at Lane’s direction

*people are getting curious why there is an omega in the company that was strictly only for betas and alphas.

Lane’s P.O.V

*heavily sigh

I can’t take it any more...people are staring at me. Yes, I know what they are all thinking right now…

how can an Omega suddenly enter here that was full of alphas…

*They are entering the elevator

Edward: You may leave now, Ms. Matt.

Secretary: Yes Sir, good day Sir.

*Closes the door and leaves them a deafening quietness of the room…

*Lane is standing near the door, bowing down and not moving an inch from his place

Lane: Uhmm… Aah... th-this morning, I--really… I really didn’t want to just leave without a notice… a-and l want to thank you about last night from saving me from that alpha who tried to assault me.

*Lane was trembling and fidgeting

*he couldn’t hear anything, but his loud throbbing heart

Edward: *sigh

You said earlier that I saved you from the assault of an alpha...?

*walking towards Lane

*Edward saw how Lane was trembling so much... so he loosened up the tension

*looking at Edward who is approaching Lane

*suddenly kisses Lane

Lane: *froze and shock

huh? Kiss?... HUuuuh?!! K-K-Kiss?! Why is he kissing me right now?... Isn’t he angry because I left him this morning?

*heart's throbbing loudly

Huh, why is that my heart throbbing so loud? What’s wrong with me, what's wrong with my heart? Why is it so loud but…somehow it’s not because I feel frightened or nervous but… but because of him?!..

*Edward kisses Lane passionately… the feeling Edward has right at that moment that he never felt before even with the betas and alphas he met before…

he never felt this thirst before...coming from Omegas... for Lane’s warm and presence.

He was overwhelmed by this unfamiliar feeling...

Edward: *kissing Lane

*he then became conscious of what was happening

Sh*t… why did I just kiss him… am I this yearning for his body? I'm not some kind of twisted man out there… but this feeling... what’s this. I can’t have enough of this…

Lane: *pushing Edward away to break from their passionate kiss

mmph aah… ha… haa… uhm sorry, but Sir I-I thought that you’re mad because I left you… this morning… ha… haa.. a-and how come you k-kiss m-me…

*touch his lips with the tip of his fingers and blushing

Edward: Haa..

*clears his throat and arranges his disheveled suit

Ehem… I didn’t say I’m mad. I’m upset… didn’t I just save you...?

and we did have a steamy night last night... right how come you leave without knowing who you **** **** with or even see their face right? Isn’t it so impolite of you?

*acting like a righteous person as he reason his arguments

Lane: *remembering what happened last night and blushing

R-right… Umm..again I'm sorry for what had happened and… umm...t-thank you…

Edward: *grinning while looking at Lane that looks like a cute kitten

Mmm…

Lane suddenly remembered why he was summoned at his office and asked Edward the reason why.

Lane: Uhm excuse me S-sir…

Edward: You can call me Edward.

Lane: *mumble and worry

(though I would rather not...)

Ah yes… Mr. Edward can I…

Edward: Just Edward... and don’t use Mr. as an honorific, I sound like I’m some nasty person intimidating some weak Omega.

Lane's P.O.V

huh? Isn’t it, calling him Mr. looks more like a noble person rather than a criminal or something? He’s kind of confusing…

Lane: Umm yes... Mist-- E-Edward.

Edward: Yes, that’s it. So what do you want to ask?

Lane: Ahh, I was just asking… Why did you bring me here?

*nervous when he saw Edward wear a confuse facial expression

Ah! It’s not that I care…

(* whisper) even if I do…

Edward: Huh? What are you trying to say? And what are you mumbling?

Lane: Ah! n-nothing… *waving hands

It’s just that... it’s quite unusual for a President to look for some ordinary person, right?

Edward: *thinking

Yes, you are right… However, you’re not aware of the situation we have right now…?

Lane: Eh? Situation? What do you mean by that?

Edward: *sigh

You're kind of an airhead I see… *smile

that’s why you were easily attacked by some random alpha.

You see we have a much deeper situation here… as you can see I despise omegas…especially their scent.

Lane: *nervous from the word Edward utter by hating omegas

Ahh… I-Isee…

Edward: Yes… I hate omegas… but now... it's different...you’re different…

Lane was shocked by what he heard... being liked by such a noble alpha, a merely ordinary omega like him couldn't bear the thought of it…

Lane’s heart again beat irregularly from the hope and joy of being liked by such a guy like Edward... he just met?

Edward: I'm having a wild guess here... that you are my omega… not just any other but… you are my soul bond… we both are soul mates…

Lane was shocked because of what he heard that they are soul bond…

Now Lane understands why his heart has been beating erratically since when he met Edward and…

now all have become in one piece from the beginning of their meeting and until this very moment…

What will happen now is that Edward already finds his soul bond... an Omega which is the Lane, the person whom he saved.

What comes to their relationship and what will Lane do knowing that he also found his mate... and his soul bond is not just any other alpha but a noble one…
