Episode 5

Jane's POV

The first day of the holiday felt amazing, I could sleep till late and had nothing planned.

I was currently enjoying my shower thinking about what Jaden said yesterday about me finding someone who'll love me.

I wish I'd as much confidence and courage as him, I literally have zero experience with fellows. The only guys I socialize with are my brother and Luke and practically speaking they don't really count.

Maybe college will be a new experience I thought encouraging myself.

After I'm all cleaned up, I switched on the speaker, connect my phone, and picked Bruno Mars - lazy songs...

I decided to go with a brown crop top, black Jeans. I dried my hair then applied some curly activator spray and decide to leave it tumbling just like that, no ponytail or messy bun today.

I swang my hips to the beat while singing along.

" Somebody is happy today " Jaden walked past me and jumped straight onto my bed.

" Someone still doesn't know how to knock " I fired back.

" What do you have scheduled?" he asked dismissing my comment.

"Nothing in particular" then I recalled" you still have the car keys right? "

"Do I ?" he sarcastically questioned wiggling his brows.

"Mom wanted me to go deliver something at Granny's and plus I need to go to the mall and fetch a few things"

" Okay, when do we leave?" he asked standing up.

" After breakfast " I replied.

When we finish eating, I wash the dishes, neatly clean the counter, and went back to my room. Took a small brown jeep leather bag and shove in my wallet cellphone and a list I made for the things I lacked...

I walked to mom's room and located the box she told me to take to Granny, it was a manual blood pressure monitor, I grabbed it and went downstairs to try and find Jaden that surprisingly was already outside.

As soon as we arrived we walked in and an old lady drinking a cup of tee stared at us and smiled showing her wrinkles. I later found out that she was Sindy Granny's friend.

I gave the monitor to Granny and explained how to obtain readings and when she finally got it, I told her that we had to go.

The rest of the day was all about me in the living room watching series, Jaden startling me every now and then, I had to cook lunch for us, not thinking much about it I decided to cook spaghetti and meatballs.

When I was done cooking I called him. As usual, after eating he just jumped on the couch like a corpse leaving all the work for me. After cleaning I joined him on the couch, we watch Grownish till late and when I literally felt my eyes shut, I stood up, grabbed an apple made my way upstairs, and told him goodnight.

Woke up, then looked around, it was 10 am, Jaden was already making noise in his room. I texted Ailee and Annabelle to see if they wanted to come over today. I was glad that they both agreed.

I washed up, got ready then went to Jaden's room while planning on what to cook for lunch deciding on a basic lasagna. I asked Jaden if he could go pick up my girlfriends, he frowned but then agreed.

" Give me a minute, I'll shower quickly" he said taking off his shirt.

" Okay, and thanks "

Back at the kitchen, I put all the necessary ingredients I'll need on top of the counter and start cooking.

Jaden came down with wet hair a black shirt and black sweatpants.

He grabbed the car keys from the counter " tell them to get ready, I'll just stop by the store to get something then I'll be on my way to Ailee's then Annabelle"

I laughed " good plan though, picking Ailee first, and remember to tell her to sit in front before Annabelle takes the seat and makes your ride a living hell. Oh I almost forgot, please buy ice cream when you go to the store "

He frowned but said okay and walked out of the house.

" Don't forget to switch on your GPS " I screamed.

I continued cooking, after putting two serving dishes in the oven I start setting up the table... When the oven timer went off I switched it off without removing the lasagna.

They finally arrived, I was excited to see them. Annabelle was the first to come in, she saw me then came towards me

" Hey girl" she said hugging me.

" Wifey " Ailee shouted hugging me as well.

We started mumbling about how we missed each other and how boring the holidays were.

Jaden came through and placed the Ice cream inside the fridge. " I'm starving" he complained.

"let's eat then " I took the lasagna and went to the living room.

While eating Ailee told us how Jimin would wake up early for no reason and she would wake up and run after him to shut him up, we all laugh when she told us that she fell while chasing him.

After eating I decided to let Jaden wash the dishes and go up with my girls.

We paint each other's nails, Annabelle played with my hair while she talked about how hot her new neighbor was.

We watched Girls strip, and before it ended Ailee got a call from her father letting her know that he was outside to pick her up. She packed her things and asked Annabelle if she wanted a ride home.

Annabelle was not happy about it because she wanted to go with Jaden but she didn't refuse.

After they left, I went downstairs and surprisingly Jaden really did wash the dishes. I wrote a note saying" lasagna in the oven for dinner" placed it on the counter for mom and Dad then moved back to my room, took a random book, start reading it then fall asleep minutes later.

The rest of the week couldn't get more miserable, Ailee texted saying she was traveling and she was sorry she wouldn't be here for my birthday. Annabelle went to her family farm. I was so bored that I literally bagged Jaden to let me clean his room.

While I cleaned he was obviously just resting on his bed talking to Mia on the phone.

4th of December, three days before our birthday. I woke up around 6 am I couldn't sleep anymore, so I decided to check my social media and a notification popped up, I checked and I saw it's from NUST.

Usually, this is the time you start panicking, the time for early pre-concert nerves, I ran to Jaden's room finding him sleeping peacefully, just great, I smirked and jumped on top of the bed.

" Wake up, wake up J " I shouted while looking around for his cellphone.

" What now? Can't you keep it down a little " he whined as his eyes fluttered and his body stirred.

"What time is it?" he asked, his voice thick still sleepy.

" Check your email now" I screamed excited.

He pulled his phone, searched for a while then rolled to me " there is nothing new, see ?" He said showing me his phone.

I took it from him" dummy your Wi-Fi is off, here " I gave it back.

" NUST?" he said standing up " did you get accepted? "

"I didn't open mine yet" I told him nervously. " should we open together? "

"Okay, let's count till three "

" one, two, three," we say in unison.

We opened the emails and the first word I saw was congratulations I didn't even look at the rest. I looked up at my twin and he was smiling as well.

" I got accepted " he screamed.

" Stop copping me " I couldn't help but smile.

He picked me up and spun us around.

He stopped, both of us breathing heavily " what time is it? " he asked.

" Around 6 am "

"let's go tell mom and Dad " he screamed putting me down and walked out.

Downstairs Jaden literally burst out informing mom and dad about everything, didn't even give me a chance to say a word.

" Congratulation my babies, come here" mom said opening her arms.

We went to her and she gave us a very warm and comfy hug " I'm so proud of you two"

Dad joined giving us a bearhug and kissing us both on the head " It calls for a celebration " he said " what if I and your mother come home early so we go out for dinner?"

" Sounds good to me" I replied when we finally let go of each other.

These are the few moments that I cherish the most when it comes to our family, we may not spend a lot of time together, even though I wish we could but these little moments served as reassurance that we loved each other unconditionally.

" love you all, you all made me a complete man" he said looking at mom"

"We love you too Dad" Jaden said.

We had dinner in a very charming and cozy restaurant, it was fun I enjoyed being with my family like that, because we don't really do it often.

When we got home, I went straight to my room and Jaden to his. I quickly showered put on my PJs and went to sit on the window seat listening to music. Jaden came and we sat back to back enjoying a comfortable silence.

" What is going on in this little head of yours " Jaden whispered.

" Just thankful we've each other " I sadly stated " I think the time to be a big girl is here and I'm so scared, I always relied on everyone in this family and I'm afraid when the time comes to make my own decisions I might make mistakes"

"Who said that you're not allowed to make mistakes?" Jaden asked" obstacles are an essential part of life even though it sucks, we can always learn from our mistakes right ?"

" I don't want to disappoint you guys"

I told l him as my voice started shaking tears urging to fall.

" The same hammer that shatters glass forges steel" he stated " Just means that the same problems that make your life a living hell, can also be used to make you stronger"

He stood up and come in front of me " use it to conquer all these fears and take advantage of it "

"Plus we are together in this, whatever problem you face let's deal with it together okay twin? "

" Love you, Big guy" I said hugging him tight he made me feel so safe.

" And about the boys that Dad was talking about, I'll deal with them" I giggled when he finished his statement.

" You won't have to worry about it, no one will wanna date me, I'm nobody's type "

" Didn't you clean your mirror this week?" He said pointing at the mirror " you are gorgeous, you just need to see yourself the way I see you "

" If you give it a chance and a little bit of confidence, every day I'll have to fight a boy to stay away from you"

" You are my brother, whatever you say doesn't count "

" I'm also a man so I know what I'm talking about"

He stood up, went back to his seat and we were back to our signature position.

" I'm glad you are my brother "

" Me too twin " Jaden giggled " our math is simple 0.5 plus 0.5, we are two in one if you know what I mean "

" Nerd much" I scoffed.

We talked about so many things and we didn't even notice how late it was.

I was so glad my twin understood and supported me the way he did, he would always make me feel comfortable, I can't even begin to imagine my life without him. So happy that our plans are finally coming to be, that is what they mean by living the dream right?

Around 3 am I finally reached my limit, I literally crawled my way to bed, Jaden jumped next to me...

" Don't you have a bed to sleep on? " I ask somnolent.

" I do, but and is a really big But, I don't want to go there."

" Suit yourself" I said half asleep.

" I'm a constant in your life, there is no way to separate me from you twin " was the last thing I heard him murmur after he snatched me and embraced me in a very warm brotherly hug and I peacefully fell asleep.

The next morning I opened my eyes and the warm golden rays of the sun peeking through the window welcomed the new day. I couldn't help but smile. It's said that the most beautiful morning is when we were excited about what we have planned for the day and strangely I had nothing planned for today.

I turn around and saw Jaden sleeping soundly with his back facing me.

I go through my clothes and took what I thought matched my mood. I head to the bathroom and enter shower singing while the water rolled down my skin.

Out of the bathroom and fully dressed I went in front of my mirror.

I was wearing black ripped denim overalls with a white oversized t-shirt. I liked what I saw.

I went down prepared breakfast and went back up to my room.

" wakey, wakey eggs, and bakey!" I whispered

Jaden turned around, looked up confused. " Why are you in such a good mood? " he said with a sleepy voice.

" For no reason at all" I announced walking towards the table to take my cellphone " I made breakfast "

" And now you are being all nice early in the morning " looking at me suspiciously he stood up.

" I'll meet you downstairs, I need to bath before finding out what evil plan is on your agenda" he said making me chuckle.

Made my way to the kitchen and started eating. When Jaden came down I was done. After he ate we both washed the dishes.

We played Uno and he won the first round, but then I won the two rounds after that. It was my lucky day after all.

" What should I cook for lunch ?"

" Anything edible" He said looking up with a large grin splitting across his face.

" I'll decide on my own, thanks for your help " I sarcastically told him.

I should be grateful that mom forced me to learn how to cook, otherwise both I and Jaden would die of starvation, he only knows how to boil water.

After giving it a thought I decided Roasted chicken.

I took the chicken seasoned it with salt, pepper, and parsley and mix a little bit of olive oil, melted butter, lemon juice, and Dad's favorite wine to rub all over the chicken.

I shove it into the oven not switching it on yet just giving it time enough for the flavors to blend in.

I decide to clean the mess I made when Jaden came to me.

" Going out for a while " he informed me.

" Where to ?" I questioned him without looking in his direction.

" Nate needs a ride to the airport and I also need to get a new battery for my laptop "

" Okay "

" I won't take long" he murmured through my hair while kissing my head.

" GPS on J " I screamed when he opened the door to exit the house.

" Okay, you too, Love you sis" he said standing there as if waiting for an answer.

" love you too twin " We both smiled and he walked out the door.

Childish much, I thought. growing up mom always told us to never forget to tell each other how much we loved the people we cared about, so they will always come back to us. So Jaden decided that we should always say I love you when one of us is going out, so we could come back to each other.

In the beginning, I never replied, he would glare at me until I was annoyed enough and tell I love him too just to get rid of him.

After cleaning up my mess, I took my phone and called Annabelle.

" hey favorite twin how are you? " she screamed.

" Hey Doll I'm good, you?"

" Sort of good I think" she said a bit sad.

" What is wrong ?" I ask concerned.

" I want to dye my hair pink, dad won't let me" she grumbled.

" Good Lord Anna, I thought something bad happened " I chipped.

" It's a humongous problem, Jane "

" Alright girl, how is your holiday so far ?"

" Not as hectic as I planned but I can work with this "

" you sure will" I scoffed, she always makes something out of nothing.

" Anyway, do you have any news on how we gonna celebrate your birthday? " she inquired sounding impatient.

" We still need to figure that part out, but we have three extra days to think of something " I was clueless of what we were going do, perhaps Jaden will figure something out.

"Cool, just keep me updated, I can't wait any longer to see Jaden, I haven't seen him for months now " I could already picture her smirking.

" Girl, please! You saw him a couple of days ago "

"I still miss him though " she laughed.

"I need to go finish cooking, talk to you later baby" I said while heading in the kitchen.

" Bye girl "

I immediately switched on the oven, then start chopping some veggies and fix them in the setting dish next to the chicken.

I wanted to call Ailee to see how she was doing but I still didn't get her new number.

Well, I'll just have to wait until she calls. laying down on the couch I took the remote and tried to find something to occupy myself. In an hours time, the chicken was ready, it was so quiet and peaceful that it didn't take long for me to doze off.

Woke up with the buzzing sound of my phone ringing. Without opening my eyes I reach for the cellphone, I couldn't figure who it was my vision was blurry.

" Hello!? " no response.

I softly rubbed my eyes so I could see the caller ID.

" Jaden!? " I stated more like a question.

" Jaden you called, so say something " I was getting irritated.

" Are you trying to irrit_ " I stopped when I heard someone breathing heavily as if struggling to breathe.

" J are you okay? What is happening? Where are you? " I panicked.
