I reached the crime spot as soon as possible. Sirens were ringing in the air and large crowd was gathered around. Night was dark and cloudy. Whispering and gaspes could be heard .

I went where the body was laying lifelessly with lots of blood pouring out , painting the tiles deep red. As soon as I reached there , I saw a body of a man ,dark in complexion, fair brown eyes with height of about 5'6 was lying lifelessly on the floor . He had been murdered mercilessly ,his throat was slashed and he had been stabbed multiple times before his death. Maybe tortured. His eyes were wide open , probably showing the fear of killer whom he was afraid of.

“Sir , we talked with his neighbours. His name is Max and he was very friendly person . He lived here alone and his parents are currently living in Chennai . Sir people also told that he was very helpful and good natured. ” constable said , looking at me.

“Where is Jiya and her forensic team ?” I asked . “They are on their way sir .”He replied back. I nodded my head wordlessly. “Search the whole house and tell me what you got.” I said in hardtone.

I put on my white gloves and began inspecting the body .He was tortured. I began looking in his small flat . The room was very small in size with white colour walls and decent brown coloured sofa along with glass table and a vase ,maybe of japanese style resting at their respectful places.

“Bring the person who informed the police. ”I said and constable ran to bring that person. Few moments later , a small bald , penguin like man came into view alongside the constable. “What's your name?” I asked. “Sir I am Kishore.” He answered in a shrilly voice. “What exactly did you see. Tell me all true or else be ready to face consequences.”I warned that penguin in low tone. He gulped and nodded.

“Sir Max and I were good friends. I came here to visit him because he called me few hours ago before his death to tell me something.When I came in , I saw him dead and immediately call the poilce.” He answered. “ What did he wanted to tell you about?” I asked. “Sir ,he said he will told me once I reach.” I nodded at him.

“For how long did you know him?” “Sir about 3 years ,we had been friends from last year of college.” I hummed at him. “He had any enemies?” I asked rasing an eyebrow at him. “No sir , in fact he was very nice person.” He told me to which I just nodded my head.

“Where do you live?” I asked. “Just after two buildings opposite to this building.” He replied. I nodded at him. “You may go for now but I will call you again if required.” I told him in a firm voice. “okay sir.” He said and left.

I looked at body once again,no doubt that the murder was brutal , I was gazing all over when my eyes landed in his fingers , his thumb was removed but you could see the bone of it without its flesh. Definitely he had been tortured. His nails were scratched out and there was deep cut on his mouth.

“What did you say about this Jiya? ” I asked her ,after she was done inspecting the body at the crime spot for a while. Jiya was the head of the forensic science lab and my good friend. We have been working together for the past three years and she was good at her work.

“He has been died about 3-4 hours ago. The victim was tortured brutally before being send to sleep . Also I didn't find any kind of finger print , marks or prints of hand or any other kind of physical contact on his body. Surprisingly the killer was smart enough to left no single trace of the material he used to torture this man. And most probably after looking at the cuts and marks , simple knife is used . That's all I can say for now. Besides we can only conclude further after lab reports. ” Jiya said looking pity at the victim.

“Okay just do lemme know when results are out.” I said to her. “Sure.” She replied
