I Became the Villainess In My Own Novel?!

I Became the Villainess In My Own Novel?!

Chapter 1 — “The Villainess Has Negative Fan Points?!”

The first thing I felt when I woke up wasn’t pain.

It was heaviness.

Not metaphorical heaviness — no, I mean literal, “why-does-my-hair-weigh-a-ton-and-why-does-my-pillow-smell-like-lavender-instead-of-shampoo” heaviness.

I groaned, shifting under silky sheets that were way too soft to belong to my single, budget college dorm. Something rustled nearby — silk curtains, I realized. Big. Heavy. Royal-looking.

Wait.

Since when do I have curtains?

My eyes snapped open.

Gold ceiling.

Crystal chandelier.

Velvet drapes.

And… a mirror.

A very large mirror reflecting a very unfamiliar, suspiciously beautiful girl with silver-white hair and violet eyes blinking back at me.

I froze.

She froze.

We both screamed internally.

…Wait. That’s me.

My pulse spiked. I scrambled up, staring down at the nightgown I was wearing — delicate white silk with embroidery so fine it looked like it cost more than my entire tuition. My hands were pale, slender, elegant.

No, no, no— this can’t be—

I stumbled to the mirror, pressing a trembling hand against the glass.

“Okay… deep breaths,” I muttered. “You’re just… dreaming. Yeah. Or maybe you hit your head while pulling an all-nighter again. Perfectly reasonable explanation.”

The girl in the reflection didn’t agree. She just stared back, equally horrified.

This… This face…

Recognition hit me like a carriage to the gut.

I knew this face.

Because I had written it.

“Oh, you’ve gotta be kidding me.”

---

It took me six whole moments — six long, excruciating moments — to process what was happening.

Moment one: denial.

Moment two: existential crisis.

Moment three: denial again.

Moment four: self-insult.

Moment five: reluctant acceptance.

Moment six: realization that I had, in fact, somehow isekai’d into my own novel.

Specifically, into the body of Morana Aelith Azara — the villainess.

The same Morana I’d written as cold, cunning, manipulative, and morally allergic to the word “kindness.”

The same Morana who was supposed to die horribly in chapter 56 because she crossed the villain, Kai Blaze Odessa.

And right now, she was me.

Or I was her.

Or we were both in serious trouble.

---

Okay, okay, calm down.

I sat on the bed, fingers gripping the blanket like it held the answer to my life choices.

Let’s review, I told myself. You were writing your next chapter last night — Rhys confesses to Mia, Morana’s about to crash the party with that poison-laced smile — and then… blackout.

You wake up, and bam — congratulations, you’re the villainess. No refund, no respawn point.

Fantastic.

I squeezed my temples. “Alright, universe, what’s the point? Am I supposed to ‘redeem’ her? Make her good? Or—”

Something flickered in front of my eyes.

A faint blue light.

I blinked. Once. Twice. Then froze.

A translucent screen shimmered midair, filled with text written in glowing silver letters.

---

My entire brain short-circuited.

“What the f*ck.”

I stared at the glowing numbers. Negative affection?

Who even has negative affection in real life?!

My mouth hung open. I jabbed at the screen — my finger went right through it like it was made of smoke.

“No, no, no, this has to be a bug,” I muttered. “Or karma. Yeah, karma for making her so evil.”

The screen didn’t respond. It just hovered there, smugly reminding me that my twin brother hated me enough to have negative fifteen affection.

---

Okay, maybe I can fix this.

I took a deep breath, pacing around the room. “Step one: don’t die. Step two: make everyone like me. Step three: survive long enough to get back home.”

Easy, right?

Right?

I turned toward the ornate door, determination flickering somewhere behind the rising panic.

That’s when a knock sounded.

“Lady Morana?” came a voice — calm, formal, definitely servant material. “The Grand Duke requests your presence at breakfast.”

My spine stiffened.

Oh no. Dad.

I wasn’t ready for Dad.

Or Mom.

Or anyone, really.

But dying wasn’t exactly on my to-do list, so I forced a smile, squared my shoulders, and opened the door.

A maid curtsied, avoiding my eyes.

Great. Already off to a fantastic start.

---

The dining hall was huge. The kind of “I-can-fit-my-dignity-and-three-failed-exams” huge. A long table stretched across the room, filled with silverware, fruit, and enough awkward silence to choke me.

At the far end sat Derrick Mirasa Azara, my father — the Grand Duke.

Next to him, Claire Sinira Azara, my mother, looking soft and graceful, though her expression held faint unease.

And then… the brothers.

Kian, the eldest — composed, cold, sipping tea like it owed him money.

Lucas, the second — the one with the sharp eyes and a sharper tongue.

And finally Ezekiel, my twin.

He didn’t even glance at me.

He’s ignoring me, great. I don’t have to do some effort here at least.

As if on cue, the glowing HUD blinked into existence again.

---

[Affection Task Reminder]

Target: Ezekiel Aures Azara

Current Affection: 0%

Requirement: +50% by deadline

Penalty: Death

---

“…WHAT THE F*CK.”

The words slipped out before I could stop them.

Every head in the room turned toward me.

Perfect.

Just perfect.

“Morana,” my father said slowly, brows furrowing. “Is something… wrong?”

I forced a nervous laugh. “No! Nothing’s wrong! Everything’s… perfectly fine! Just, uh… testing my vocal range.”

A long, awkward pause.

Claire smiled gently, though it looked strained. “You’ve been unwell since your… collapse, dear. Perhaps you should rest more?”

Collapse.

So that’s what they thought happened to her — the real Morana.

If only they knew the truth: that their daughter’s soul was currently bingeing Netflix in another universe using my body.

---

Breakfast was… tense.

Every conversation felt like walking barefoot through broken glass — polite smiles, short answers, and cold glares.

By the time I escaped back to my room, I was ready to throw myself out the nearest window (metaphorically. Mostly).

I collapsed onto the bed and stared at the ceiling.

So… this is my life now.

Seven months.

Five people.

And affection levels that made my social anxiety look optimistic.

“Alright,” I muttered, sitting up and cracking my knuckles. “If I have to charm this entire aristocratic family to survive, then fine. Challenge accepted.”

The HUD flickered again, like it approved.

Don’t look at me like that, I thought. You’re the reason I’m panicking at 9 a.m.

---

That’s when I remembered something else.

The academy.

In the novel, Morana had enrolled in the most prestigious magic academy on the continent — the same one the heroine Mia Lizen and the male lead Rhys Mauriel attended.

And somewhere between them lurked him.

The real villain.

Kai Blaze Odessa.

The cold, charming, sunshine-when-he-wants-to-be nightmare who destroyed nations for fun.

In my story, he was terrifying.

Ruthless. Calculated.

And — if I remembered correctly — destined to fall for the villainess.

Oh no.

I buried my face in my hands. “Please tell me I don’t meet him anytime soon.”

The screen lit up one last time before fading.

[Next Objective Unlocked]

Location: Aetherra Royal Academy

I groaned.

“Of course,” I whispered. “Of course the plot wants me dead and enrolled.”
