Part 3 (1): Hello Senior

This is the first day Kevin studied at Peony Senior High School. Class was opened by Mr. Sam as a teacher in Class A. Children feel free to introduce themselves in class and have to know their seatmate. A few students already know their name, but Kevin doesn’t. The person next to Kevin introduced herself to Kevin.

Rei: “Hello, What’s your name?”

Kevin: “Kevin, and you?”

Rei: “Call me Rei. Nice to meet you.”

Kevin: “Nice to meet you too.”

Rei: “If you don’t mind, can we exchange contacts?”

Kevin: “Sure.”

People looked at Rei, fascinated by her beauty. They wanted to exchange contact too, like Kevin, but she can’t receive too many people, so she said later.

Kevin: “People look at you, Rei. Don’t you get shy.”

Rei: “Little bit.”

Kevin: “Hahaha. What do you mean by little bit”?

Rei: “This is not my first time people stare at me like that.”

Kevin: “And…?”

Rei: “I think I should try to introduce myself from now on.”

Kevin: “So you’re an introvert, right?”

Rei: “I…think.”

Kevin: “It’s ok. If you want my help, you can call me.”

Rei: “Me too! If you need my help, just ask me, okay?”

Other: “Excuse me, can I get your contact number?”

Rei: “Oh yeah, sure. Here.”

Other: “Thank you. By the way, you look gorgeous.”

Rei: “Thank you, you too.”

Other: “If you are looking for people to eat together after class, you can join us.”

Rei: “I will.”

Kevin: “Woah, you didn’t even ask to get to know them.”

Rei: “That’s what makes me special.”

Kevin: “Hahaha. Obviously.”

Mr. Sam started to introduce himself. He talks a lot about his daily life and funny stories, but no one laughs. It seems students are bored with him.”

Mr. Sam: “Hey, you, why are you sleeping? Go wash your face.”

Other: “No, I’m okay, sir.”

(Mr. Sam looked at other students.)

Mr. Sam: “You guys wake up; this is your first time studying as a student in Peony Senior High School; you should be excited about that. Come on, get up, get up.”

Other: “Mr. Sam, may I go to the toilet, please?”

Mr. Sam: “Sure, but don’t take a long time.”

Other: “Okay, Mr. Sam. Thank you, Mr. Sam.”

Mr. Sam: “Okay, now we’re going to start our first lesson. So today, I want to…”

Other: “Sorry, Mr. Sam, May I go to the toilet, please?”

Mr. Sam: (Takes a deep breath). “Okay, go ahead. Go fast.”

Other: “Okay, Mr. Sam...”

Other: “Sorry, Mr. Sam.”

Mr. Sam: “What else??”

Other: “My dad’s calling me.”

Mr. Sam: “Can you just chat him to talk to you later?”

Other: “But this is important, Mr. Sam.”

Mr. Sam: “Whatever, just…pick up the call.”

Other: “Thank you, Mr. Sam.”

Mr. Sam: “No one else wants to go to the toilet? Or talk about important things?”

Other: “No, Sir.”

Mr. Sam: “Okay, let’s continue.”

Other: “Mr. Sam?”

Mr. Sam: “WHATT??”

Other: “Eumm… Your phone is ringing.”

Mr. Sam: “Oh... (turns off his phone). Sorry about that. Okay everyone, so I’m going to explain to you what social interaction is…”

(The bell was ringing; the students ran out.)

In the canteen, Zack and friends enjoyed the food, but Zack looked tired. Lay was confused about how to ask his friend what happened to him yesterday, so he just stared at him.

Ten: “Yo, Bro. Do you want my soda? (Zack didn’t reply). Lay, do you want this?”

Lay: “No, I’m okay.”

Ten: “Zack, Zack, ZACK!”

Zack: “Hmm?”

Ten: “Zack, are you alright?”

Zack: “Yes, I am.”

Ten: “No, no, no, no, no. You aren’t.”

Lay: “What happened, Zack?”

Zack: “Nothing happened.”

Ten: “For sure?”

Zack: “Hmm.”

Ten: “For real?”

Lay: “You can tell us. What is it? About our program. Is there anything wrong with that?”

Zack: “No, it’s fine. I’m just… kind of a little bit sleepy.”

Ten: “Ah, I got you. You’re a busy man, no time to have fun.”

Lay: “We can hang out together if you have time.”

Zak: “Yeah, thanks.”

(Lay was called out by his friend.)

Lay: “Sorry guys. I have to prepare for basketball. See you later.”

Ten: “Yeah, bye, my darling.”

Lay: “Hold your tongue.”

Ten: “Why?? It’s normal to say that to your friend.”

Lay: “Bye Zack.”

Zack: “Bye Lay.”

(Rei came into Ten.)

Rei: “Did Mom give you my lunchbox?”

Ten: “Why do you ask me?”

Rei: “I forgot to put my lunchbox in the bag.”

Ten: “So what will you eat?”

Rei: “I don’t know.”

Ten: “Oh, come on… Here, just eat my lunchbox.”

Rei: “Eum… Thank you.” (Rei left them both.)

Zack looked at Kevin and Rei. They both seemed close, like a couple. Zack assumed for a while and was distracted by the things. Ten realized what Zack looked at. He smiled because of what he thought.

Ten: “My younger sister is very pretty, right?”

(Zack snapped out of his daydream.)

Ten: “Ahh, You like my sister. Hey, you have to get past me first.”

Zack: “What are you talking about?”

Ten: “Hahaha, okay, okay. I won’t disturb you. But why are you so serious? Ohh… that boy. Why do they look close? Nahh… maybe just a friend.”

Zack: “Ten, do you know who he is? You talked to him yesterday, right?”

Ten: “Yes. Why?”

Zack: “Is there anything that you know about him?”

Ten: “No. We just know each other, right? How can I know about him?”

Zack: “Ten, I have to go. See you.”

Ten: “Just go wherever you want… Now I’m just a poor guy who doesn’t have a friend, acting like an idiot, just me and me again.”

Zack: “I will meet you after school.”

Ten: “Okay, okay. At least it makes me feel alive again.”

(Other girls thought Zack and Ten had some chemistry.)

Ten: “Oh man… Why is my life changing slowly? I want to have a partner like others. (Ten looked at the girls). Hey! What are you thinking? We’re both just acting.”
