Longing for 10 Years

Aki woke up late and hurried to work, it's his usual self, getting up late and being late for work. His friend Haru has been calling him since morning, when he saw him at last he started shouting.

Haru, '' I told you it's an important presentation.''

Aki, '' I know, but I can't help it's habituated and I even told you that I am not presenting it. ''

Haru, '' You're my sweetest friend, so please help me. I have a meeting with the client. ''

Aki, '' Why didn't you check schedule then? ''

Haru, '' Alright, it's my fault that I didn't check my schedule. ''

Haru made a long face and stated staring at him.

Aki, '' Ok ! You don't have to make such a long face. I will help you, but this will be the last time. ''

Haru started hugging him saying, '' You're my sweetest buddy. '' He left the office to meet his client. Aki took all the material from Haru's desk and started seeing the important points to discuss in the presentation.

Jessica came over Aki saying, '' Haru forgot his schedule again right. '' It's statement not a question, because last time he left his presentation to Jessica. She is their colleague, joined the company at the same time with them.

However Aki either talks to Haru or Jessica in the office, of course with higher officials. Others dare not to approach him, because the look on his face which clearly says ' Dare not to approach me ' , yet because of his inevitable face many tried to approach him but never succeeded.

Aki, '' You know him better than me. ''

Jessica, '' Whatever. It's time for your presentation. Yaa I forget to tell you, this is not previous company but a new one. I heard even their Managing Director is coming over. Do your best. ''

They continued their talk till the presentation room and once Aki opened the door. He saw a pair of eyes staring at him. He felt like he know this eyes, maybe met a long time before. While thinking about these, he finally took a look at the face. He was dumbfounded.

The man he was looking was none other than his high school friend Ewon, adult Ewon. He was staring at him. He was completely blank, he even forgot what they are doing there at present moment.

His chief called his name twice but their was no reaction in his face as though he don't know who was Aki over there. Jessica placed her hand on Aki's shoulder and asked, '' What happened? Chief is calling you. ''

Then he regained his purpose to come and answered,

'' Nothing.'' Then he walked towards his chair, Jessica was beside him. Even now he can sense that Ewon eyes have fixed on him.

Jessica started her presentation, Aki completely avoided Ewon's eyes and concentrated on Jessica's words. Still he took a few peeks of Ewon, just to check if he's staring according to him. In a while, Jessica completed her work.

Aki stood up, and started to give presentation but at the same time he completely ignored Ewon. He didn't even look of him during the whole presentation. At last his work completed. So the rest have to be talked between the chief and Managing director so Jessica and Aki left as soon as possible, can possibly say that Aki dragged Jessica as soon as he can.

After leaving Aki started to curse Haru. At coffee shop Haru sneezed, and resumed his conversation with his client. Jessica noticed that there was something fishy so she asked Aki, '' Is anything wrong. ''

Aki simply replied, '' Nothing.''

He sat in front of his desk and started thinking why he avoided Ewon in the first place, he should have asked him questions that were nesting in his brain over a decade.
