Chintan looked around again for any traces of his family. 'Where are you all?' Chintan again exclaimed. He started to feel really anxious, his hands started to shiver again.
The clock in the house gonged loudly as it hit 12 AM and suddenly the lights came back, lighting the whole modern and big house back.
'Happy Birthday Chintan' everybody screamed as they came out of their hiding spots.
Chintan with a bewildered look stared at his family who stood in front of him wearing birthday hats and his younger cousin brothers and sister too stood there with confetti poppers and a cake which looked like a cookie and cream birthday cake.
As he saw them standing in front of him wishing him, while for all those moments he died inside. He no more could control himself.
He looked at them as his eyes widened, he frowned and his jaws clenched in anger. He made a fist to control his anger and also sighed for the same. For a few moments he tried to control his anger, but it all went in vain.
He took his laptop bag from his shoulder, threw it in anger, and walked away. And that's when the Dewan family realized what just happened.
The tall and beautiful woman who too stood there with the family members and wished a few moments ago, too realized she then looked at her husband, and after a minute they too followed him asking their three grown-up kids to stay.

As Chintan threw his laptop bag he walked away from there without even looking at anybody or without even talking to anybody Walked through the nice marbled stairs and then through the big hallway with big beautiful photo frames.
He stopped as he reached a door at the end of the hallway, a brown door. He turned the knob and entered into the room.
Suddenly a brown pit bull jumped on him and started licking his face, while its tail wagged like a crazy maniac. It also made grunting sounds as it continued to lick him.
'Hi... baby girl' Chintan spoke to her as he too kissed her with affection. He smiled as he saw her behaving like a puppy and his anger disappeared into the thin air, his face lightened up looking at her.
'Hi Sadie' he spoke as he gave her belly rubs and smiled playing with her.
'Chintan' spoke the woman as she came to his room. Chintan looked at her and smiled back as he hid his shivering hands from her.
'What happened?' She asked as she approached him.
'Nothing' Chintan replied to her hurriedly not wanting her to come closer to him otherwise she might notice his shivering hands.
'Then what was that?' asked the lady about the incident which happened minutes ago. 'Oh that nothing...Bua, it's just I was tired and wanted to relax' Chintan spoke as he continued to hide his hands behind Sadie as he sat on the floor with her sitting on his lap.
'Are you sure' His aunt (Indrani Dewan) asked out of concern. 'Yeah' Chintan replied to her, but not directly looking into her eyes.
She felt something wrong in his behavior, but still couldn't quite put a finger on it. She brushed it away, put a smile on her face and asked him to come with her for the cake cutting, he asked her to continue and he will join in 15 minutes after freshening up.
Indrani smiled at him and moved away from the room, while her husband, Tushaar who stood outside the room for the whole time looked at them and smiled.
Chintan stood and sighed relief. As he reached his pockets to take out the same medicine bottle he was interrupted by Tushaar.
'Chintan co...' Tushaar stopped as he saw him panic for a moment. Chintan looked at him 'Yeah' and replied awkwardly.
Tushaar scoffed while he looked at him and said 'Nothing...just come faster, I really want to eat that cake' and winked at Chintan and too walked away from there.
As Tushaar left the room, he closed the door hurriedly and took out the pills from the bottle.
He ran for the water and picked up the glass with his shivering hands while his heartbeat fastened and sweat dripped from his forehead. He gulped it down his throat.
He sat on his bed with his hands shivering, heartbeat increased and sweat dripping down. He felt a little dizzy and fell back on the bed. And then fell into a very light slumber.

...20 minutes later ...
*Knock-Knock*
Woof-woof-woof
Chintan abruptly woke up and sat straight as he heard the knock on the door and Sadie barking while sitting near his leg. He looked at her who stared at him back and wagged her tail.
'She has been trained so well' Chintan thought to himself while not in his full senses.
*Knock-Knock*
'****...Shit' Chintan came back to his senses with continuous heavy knocks on the door. 'Yes...just a moment' he spoke as he got up from the bed and rubbed his eyes and wiped the residue of sweat off his forehead, ran towards the door, and opened it, but not before keeping the bottle back safely in his possession.
'Bhai...everybody is waiting in the living room and you are still freshening up,' a man younger than him and also shorter than him spoke as soon as he opened the door. 'Come on' he continued and held him by his arm and tried to pull him.
'Hey, hey Chet...Chet' Chintan interfered as his younger brother, Chetanya tried to pull him. ' Just a minute bud, let me just change my clothes, Just a moment' Chintan spoke and pulled him in his room.
While Chintan changed his clothes Chetanya sat on the bed, facing the other side and played with Sadie. He suddenly asked 'Bhai what about tomorrow evening, any plans...'.
'Nope...why' Chintan asked as he wore his brown tee. 'Bhai...when will you give me a party?' Chetanya turned around and looked at his brother.
'Party..for what?...for the birthday?' Chintan asked, not being able to understand.
'Yes and also No...' Chetanya replied and turned back towards Sadie who chewed on his shoe.
'So...'
'Because you and Sanjana are back together' As soon as Chetanya completed, Chintan looked at him with an utter shock. He tried to recall if he told him about her, or anything related to her recently.
'What The ****' Chintan muttered under his breath and then said out loud to him 'How do you know that' Chintan got afraid.
'I just know that' Chetanya replied with a smirk and looked at him.
'See Chet...No one should know about her' Chintan looked at him with widened eyes and held his collar lightly, with a fist and warned him again 'and especially TD'.
'Why Bhai, m...' Chetanya started to speak but got interrupted by someone speaking.
'Bhai' a boy very younger to them stood on the door, while for a while it looked as if he heard it, Chintan felt his throat dried up again.
'Yes, Kaustu' Chintan replied as he cleared his throat and looked at him as if trying to read his face.
'Bhai, Mom, and dad sent some idiot to get you' Kaustubh spoke indicating Chetanya as an idiot 'But you didn't come so they sent me' Kaustubh completed as he got hit by a pillow thrown by Chetanya.
'You asshole' Chetanya screamed like a kid. 'You Fucker-Sucker' Kaustubh teased, ran and Sadie followed him.
Chintan laughed and then closed his mouth to stop laughing as he saw Chetanya eyeing him.
'Are...forget it, tomorrow evening party done, with just us' Chintan spoke as he got up from the bed and took his phone.
'Yes...' Chetanya rejoiced like a little kid, who just got chocolate from his parents.
After that, they went downstairs and cut the cake. Enjoyed for a little and went for their respective bedrooms and called it a night.
