Prologue

"Destroy the door."

My eyes widen in terror at his word. He couldn't be serious. He would never do something like that to hurt me.

"Azrael... You know you can't do it. I told you that door is my only way home."

I said, my voice sounding more weak than I had intended.

His crimson red eyes slowly lowered to meet mine and for a moment all I felt was fear. His eyes held so much obsession that made me shiver in terror. Who were those strong feelings for? It couldn't be me, right?

His lips stretched into an unsettling sinister smile that made me back away from him. "You shouldn't have told me that, my love. You know I would rather die than to let you leave my side."

I shook my head vigorously not understanding what he was saying or rather I didn't want to understand.

"I cannot return your feelings, Azrael. I have a family to get to at home. Please don't...do this." I said almost in tears.

" I can be your family. I'm the only one that can ever love you and give you everything you want." Azrael said as he shifted closer to me and grabbed me by my shoulder in a firm yet gentle grip.

I shook my head as tears slowly started to fall from my eyes. "I don't belong here."

"You will once you become my queen." he said as he wipes my tears with his thumb. I shook my head vigorously as I shrugged his hands away from my arms.

"I don't want this! I don't want to be your queen! I just want to go home." I yelled in frustration.

Azrael's eyes darken before he grabbed me by my waist and pull me into his chest. "You will be my queen, and I'm not asking. You are mine, Ophelia."

"No. I'm not yours, and I'll never be."

I broke out of his hold and ran towards the magic door that had brought me here.

"Destroy it." With Azrael's word, the door was immediately being destroyed. I ran as fast as my legs could take me, hoping to reach the door before it got destroyed only to get yanked back by a hand I recognize to be Azrael's.

"No!!!!"

I watched as the door got crumbled to the ground with tears in my eyes as I struggled to get out of Azrael's arms.

"No! Please, I beg you. Don't do this to me!" I pleaded but Azrael only held me tighter in his arms as I cried for my home that I probably wouldn't see anymore.

"How could you? How could you do this to me" I cried out when he finally let me go. I threw weak punches to his chest as I sobbed.

"I hate you... I hate you so much" I let out slowly as I started blankly at the debris of the demolished door.

"You will learn to love me, Ophelia. I know you will" Azrael said, hugging me from behind, and I let him as I was too broken to even refuse him.

All this started with that door and I guess it ends with it as well.
