Chapter [2]: {Marriage Proposal}
Everyone was already at the breakfast table.
Avin, Lionel’s mom, was sipping his tea.
Cassian, his dad, was reading the newspaper.
Selene, Emris's mom, was cutting fruits.
Gabriel, his dad, was buttering toast.
Just then, loud footsteps echoed.
Emris came running in, hair messy, shirt half tucked.
He looked so rushed, it made Avin smile.
Emris Edward [MC] [DO]
“Ah! I’m late! Why didn’t anyone wake me up?!”
He grabbed a sandwich from the plate and stuffed half in his mouth.
Avin Cassian [ML Mom]
(teasingly, with a soft smile): “Baby, can you please wake up that brat Lionel? He’s still sleeping.”
Emris Edward [MC] [DO]
(muffled, chewing): “Me? Why me?"
Avin Cassian [ML Mom]
(light laugh): “Because you’re the only one he won’t scream at.”
Selene Edward [MC Mom]
(dryly, raising a brow): “Oh please, he screams at everyone.”
Cassian Marlow [Ml dad][DA]
(chuckling softly): “Still, go wake him. You’re already late, right? Take him with you.”
Emris groaned, wiping his mouth. He couldn’t say no to Avin.
He marched upstairs, sandwich still in hand, opened Lionel's door slowly—then smirked.
Emris Edward [MC] [DO]
(sing-song voice): “Rise and shine, Your Highness.”
Lionel Cassian [ML][E]
(grumbling under the covers): “Go away.”
Emris Edward [MC] [DO]
(grinning wickedly): “Okay.”
He picked up the jug from the side table and poured the water directly on Lionel's face.
Lionel Cassian [ML][E]
(screaming, gasping): “WHAT THE—!”
Emris Edward [MC] [DO]
(casual tone): “Get up, idiot. We’re late.”
Lionel sat up, dripping wet, glaring.
Lionel Cassian [ML][E]
(angrily): “You psychopath!”
Emris Edward [MC] [DO]
(with a fake bow): “Thank you~ I try my best.”
Downstairs, everyone heard the scream but no one looked surprised.
A few minutes later, the two boys stomped down.
Lionel Cassian [ML][E]
(grumbling, still wiping his face): “You ruined my sleep and my face cream, dumbass!”
Emris Edward [MC] [DO]
(rolling his eyes): “Your cream was not gonna fix your ugly attitude.”
Lionel Cassian [ML][E]
(snapping): “Say that again and I’ll—”
Selene Edward [MC Mom]
(sharply): “ENOUGH!”
Avin Cassian [ML Mom]
(firmly): “Not even one morning can be peaceful with you two! Sit down and shut up.”
Emris Edward [MC] [DO]
(pointing): “He started—”
Selene Edward [MC Mom]
(cutting him off): “Don’t care. Both of you, zip it.”
Cassian and Gabriel giggled behind her cup of tea.
Cassian Marlow [Ml dad][DA]
(clearing his throat): “Now that we have everyone here…”
Avin Cassian [ML Mom]
(smiling warmly): “We have something to share.”
Avin Cassian [ML Mom]
(smiling gently): “Today, we’re going to Bella’s house.”
Emris Edward [MC] [DO]
“Bella?Brother Xavier's girlfriend, right ?”
Cassian Marlow [Ml dad][DA]
“Yes, that Bella. We’re taking a marriage proposal.”
Emris Edward [MC] [DO]
(squealing): “AHHH!! That's mean Is Brother Xavier coming too?!”
Avin Cassian [ML Mom]
(laughing softly): “Yes, baby, he is.”
Emris jumped in his seat like a child.
Emris Edward [MC] [DO]
(excited): “Yay! I haven’t seen him in so long!”
Lionel Cassian [ML][E]
(mocking): “You act like you’re five.”
Emris Edward [MC] [DO]
(grinning): “And you act like you’re fifty.”
Lionel Cassian [ML][E]
(smirking): “At least I have a brain.”
Emris Edward [MC] [DO]
"Shut up"
Lionel stood up and grabbed Emris’s bag.
Lionel Cassian [ML][E]
(annoyed): “Let’s go, crybaby. We’re already late.”
Emris Edward [MC] [DO]
(reaching for the bag): “I’m not a crybaby—give that back!”
They bickered all the way to the door.
Edward Gabriel [MC Dad] [DA]
AVIN (sighing): “They’ll kill each other before graduation.”
Selene Edward [MC Mom]
(smiling into her tea): “Let them. They’ll just haunt each other after that.”
Everyone laughed.
Outside, Emris was still snatching his bag from Lionel while running to the car.
The car engine started, and another chaotic day began.
They were still seated at the breakfast table.
The boys had already left for college, and the room was calmer now.
Cassian Marlow [Ml dad][DA]
(looking around): “babe, where’s Raphael? I didn’t see him leave with the others.”
Avin Cassian [ML Mom]
(softly): “Zayden came to pick him up early. He Said he had an important meeting that's why he's earlier .”
Selene Edward [MC Mom]
(smiling, nodding): “He’s taking his responsibility seriously. It’s good for both of them.”
Edward Gabriel [MC Dad] [DA]
(folding his newspaper): “I think we should make their engagement official, right?”
Avin paused, exchanging a look with Cassian.
Selene Edward [MC Mom]
(thoughtful): “Hmm… you’re right.”
Cassian Marlow [Ml dad][DA]
(agreeing): “Yeah, that’s a good idea. We’ll talk to both of them about it.”
Avin Cassian [ML Mom]
(smiling): “But first, let’s take the proposal for Bella. One step at a time.”
Everyone nodded in agreement.
The day was just beginning.
