The evening sun was low, casting a soft gold over quiet neighborhood. An older couple across the street, looking slightly confused as they peered at a paper in their hands. The woman glanced around, murmured.
Jungkook's Mother
~ It's should be here...
Taehyung was coming back from his workplace when he noticed two people. He, ever the friendly soul, walked over with a smile.
Kim Taehyung
~ Hello! Are you looking for someone?
Jungkook's Father
~ Yes, actually. We’re visiting our son. But we’re not very good with maps.
Taehyung took the paper and quickly recognized the address it was Jungkook’s. A small twist formed in his chest, but he kept his tone casual.
Kim Taehyung
~ Oh, I know exactly where this is. I can walk you there.
Along the way, they chatted easily. The woman thanked him for helping, noting how rare it was to meet someone so polite and kind.
When they reached Jungkook’s house, they rung bell... the door swung open, and Jungkook’s surprised face appeared. His eyes darted between Taehyung and his parents.

~ Uh.... Taehyung?
Jungkook's Mother
~ You know each other?
Jungkook's mother asked surprised.
Jeon Jungkook
~ Yes, he's..... my neighbor.
Jungkook said slowly. Jungkook's mother's face lit up.
Jungkook's Mother
~ Oh! Well then you must come to dinner with us. We can’t just let someone this helpful go home hungry.
Before Taehyung could politely decline, Jungkook’s mother was already ushering him inside, her warm chatter filling the space. Jungkook just stared, caught between amusement and disbelief, while Taehyung tried not to laugh at the unexpected turn of events.
Jungkook tied on an apron and started chopping onions next to his mom while his dad stirred something in a pot.
From the couch, Taehyung sat with his hands in his lap, staring at the muted TV screen. The smell of garlic and sesame oil filled the air, and he could hear bits of conversation between Jungkook and his parents in the kitchen.
Jungkook's Mother
~ You cut too slow, kook-ah.
Jungkook's mother teased him.
Jeon Jungkook
~ I’m being careful. Some people don’t want onions with finger pieces in them.
Jungkook replied slowly but playfully. Mr. Jeon started laughing on bickering of mother- son duo.
Jungkook's Father
~ Maybe your friend would like tea while he waits.
A moment later, Jungkook appeared in the doorway, holding two mugs. He walked over and handed one to Taehyung.
Jeon Jungkook
~ Here. Sorry, They... Uh gets excited when they meet new people.
Jungkook said, sitting down at the far end of the couch.
Kim Taehyung
~ It’s fine. They’re sweet. You, on the other hand… didn’t even say thank you.
Taehyung said giving side playful glance at jungkook. Jungkook's mouth twitched.
Jeon Jungkook
~ Thank you, Your Majesty.
Jungkook said giving dramatic light bow playfully. They both started laughing so hard.
They sat in silence for a moment, sipping tea, while in the background the sound of sizzling food and clattering utensils filled the apartment.
Kim Taehyung
~ You could've helped them find you know.
Jeon Jungkook
~ I didn’t know they were here. They didn’t even tell me they were coming until five minutes before they showed up.
Jungkook said lightly pouting. Taehyung swear he wanted to eat that pout. When he came back to his senses he realizes what he said. He, lightly coughing looked other way.
Mrs. Jeon’s voice called from the kitchen.
Jungkook's Mother
~ Food's ready.
Jungkook stood up, glancing back at Taehyung with a little smirk.
Jeon Jungkook
~ Well, hyung, let’s go before my dad eats everything.
Taehyung rolled his eyes but followed him to the dining table, still feeling that strange mix of awkwardness and warmth in his chest.
