Ep-5

The sunlight slipped through the half-drawn curtains, painting golden lines across the messy bed where Maya was still curled up, clutching her pillow like it was her last comfort. The alarm clock had already gone off twice, ignored completely.
Smriti Srivastava ( fl's mom)
“Maya! Wake up, it’s already past eight!”
Smriti's Voice rang through the room, sharp yet affectionate.
A soft groan came from under the blanket.
Maya Srivastava
“Five more minutes, Mom…”
Smriti Srivastava ( fl's mom)
“Five more minutes? You’re graduating today! Do you want to walk on stage in your pajamas?”
Her mother tugged at the covers, letting the morning air rush in.
That finally made Maya sit up, her hair a chaotic mess, eyes half-shut but sparkling with the realization.
Maya Srivastava
“Wait—today’s… oh no! I’m late!”
Her mom laughed, shaking her head.
Smriti Srivastava ( fl's mom)
"Exactly. Now hurry up before your big day slips away.”
Maya rushed into the bathroom, splashing cold water on her face, her heart pounding with excitement and nerves. Within minutes, she was dressed—her graduation gown neatly folded over her arm, and her hair only half-tamed but good enough for the occasion.
As she hurried downstairs, the smell of poha and tea filled the air. Her father sat at the table reading the newspaper, her Elder brother already munching on poha, and her mother bustling around the kitchen.
Neil Srivastava( fl's dad )
“There she is,”
Her dad said with a smile, folding the paper.
Neil Srivastava( fl's dad )
“Our graduate.”
Siddharth Srivastava ( fl's brother)
“About time! I thought you were gonna miss it.”
Maya Srivastava
*Rolled her eyes* grabbing a piece of toast. “Very funny. You saw how fast time flew when you were the one graduating.”
Her mom gave her a proud look, then pressed the gown into her hands.
Smriti Srivastava ( fl's mom)
“Come on, everyone’s waiting. Let’s go make this day unforgettable.”
By the time they came to the living room, her grandparents were already seated in the living room, both dressed smartly for the big day. Her grandmother’s eyes lit up the second she saw her.
Chandra Srivastava ( fl's grandmother)
“There she is,” Grandma said, reaching out her arms. “Our little girl is all grown up.”
Maya grinned, giving her a quick hug before her grandfather stood, straightening his suit proudly.
Suryansh Srivastava( fl's grandfather)
“I told your grandma you’d be late,” he teased with a chuckle. “Some things never change.”
Maya Srivastava
“Grandpa!”
maya groaned, but couldn’t help laughing.
Her dad closed his newspaper, smiling at the lively scene, while her elder brother snickered. Her mom came forward, brushing invisible dust off her shoulder.
Smriti Srivastava ( fl's mom)
“Alright, enough teasing. Today is special—we don’t want to miss a single moment.”
Grandma slipped a small charm bracelet into Maya’s palm.
Chandra Srivastava ( fl's grandmother)
“For good luck. Wear it today.”
Touched, Maya quickly put it on, whispering a soft thank you. And then, together—parents, grandparents, brother—all of them stepped out of the house, hearts full of pride, ready to see her shine on her graduation day.
