The first thing Aria felt was warmth — not the gentle kind from sunlight, but the heavy, heated weight of a body pressed against hers.
Her eyes fluttered open. Morning light filtered through the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting golden lines across the silk sheets. Elias was lying beside her, propped on one elbow, watching her like he’d been awake for hours.
“Good morning,” she murmured, her voice still husky from sleep.
“Morning,” he replied, his tone deep and unhurried. His hand traced the length of her bare spine, sending shivers down her skin. “I like seeing you like this.”
“Like what?” she asked.
He smirked faintly. “Naked, in my bed, with no plans to leave.”
She tried to sit up, but his arm tightened around her waist, pulling her back against his chest. “I have work,” she reminded him.
“You work for me now.”
Her head snapped toward him. “What?”
“I made a call this morning,” he said, as if it were the most casual thing in the world. “You’ll be in my office starting tomorrow. My personal assistant.”
Her pulse spiked. “You can’t just—”
“I can,” he interrupted smoothly, brushing his lips along her shoulder. “And I did. I’m not in the habit of letting go of things I want, Aria. And right now…” His hand slid down, gripping her thigh and pulling it over his hip. “…I want you again.”
She opened her mouth to protest, but the moment his mouth found hers, the argument dissolved. The kiss was slow but intense, his tongue teasing hers until she was breathless.
He rolled her onto her back, the sheets slipping away. His gaze roamed over her body with the same focus he’d had last night, as if memorizing every curve. “You’re mine now,” he murmured, leaning down to capture a nipple between his lips, sucking until she gasped.
Her fingers tangled in his hair as his mouth moved lower, leaving a trail of heat across her stomach. When his tongue finally reached her core, her back arched off the bed, a cry slipping past her lips.
He didn’t rush. Every stroke was deliberate, each flick of his tongue coaxing her higher until she was trembling. She came with his name on her lips, her body shuddering under his hold.
Before the aftershocks faded, he was over her again, his hardness pressing against her entrance. “Look at me,” he ordered.
Her eyes met his just as he thrust deep inside, the sudden stretch making her gasp. His pace was steady but firm, each movement laced with possession. He didn’t just take her — he claimed her, as if marking her so she could never belong to anyone else.
When they finally collapsed together, the sun was high and the city was awake. But in that penthouse, time felt irrelevant.
Aria lay there, catching her breath, her mind torn between wanting to leave and the dangerous truth that part of her never wanted to.
Elias wasn’t just a man.
He was a storm.
And she was already caught in the center of it.
