Stop Looking at Me

After a month,

During Assembly Milly stood two steps ahead of mine on the line at my right side. The principal was delievering a speech whereas my legs were numbed. It was really hard for me to stand that long. I couldn't help but murmur

" Ah! my legs can't take it anymore. It's on the verge of breaking."

Then suddenly I felt a chill behind my back, as if someone was staring at me. It was not the first time I felt so, I was curious this time.

"Who is the bastard glaring at me? Today I must see his/her face"

I turned my head and looked around. At first I searched over the girls' lines but everybody were focused in what the Principal was saying so I tried to look around the Boys' lines. Out of blue I caught a pair of eyes looking at my side. I knew that there are many people here so he might be looking at someone else too but I was somewhat sure that those pair of eyes were Fixed on me.

I turned my head more so that I can look at his face but the result was unpredictable....

It was IRVIN. And our eyes met again.

My inner thoughts were speaking up to me.

" what's wrong with him? Why is he staring at me so tensely? oh come on! I am not your girlfriend"

" No! no!no! he might me looking at Milly. she's just two steps ahead of mine. yes, this should be it"

I was trying to convince myself that he wasn't staring at me but everybody can easily tell if they saw him that those EYEs were definitely fixed on me.

It was making me uncomfortable so I called out for Milly.

"Hey, Milly", I whishpered

she turned and nodded.

"Hey, it's awkward to say it but, Why is your boyfriend staring at me? is he somewhat insane?"

well I guess I was the insane one who said it directly to her without even thinking how she'd feel. It's not my fault though. I didn't knew anything about jealousy too.

She laughed at me with a low tone and replied..

"pufft! May be, He is interested in you."

it got on my nerves

"Say anymore nonsense and I'll break all your teeth".

That way the assembly ended and we were dispersed.
