Eliot’s common sense screamed no.
His wallet whispered yes.
.
.
In the end, his wallet won.
😂
Anyways back to the story
Eliot Cruz- MC
“Fine,” he said, trying to sound casual. “When can I move in?”
Lucien’s grin was slow and deliberate, like a cat who’d just caught a mouse.
Lucien- Ml
“Right now.”
Before Eliot could process that, Lucien reached into his pocket and tossed him a small silver key. Eliot caught it—warm to the touch, as if it had been sitting in sunlight.
Lucien- Ml
“Your room’s down the hall, second door on the left. I’ll help you with your bags.”
Eliot Cruz- MC
“I don’t have bags,” Eliot admitted.
Eliot Cruz- MC
“Just a backpack.”
Lucien raised an eyebrow.
Lucien- Ml
“Traveling light… I like that.”
The hallway was cozy, with warm wooden floors and walls lined with faintly glowing candles. Eliot paused.
Eliot Cruz- MC
“Do you, uh, leave candles burning all the time? Isn’t that… dangerous?”
Lucien smirked over his shoulder.
Lucien- Ml
“They don’t burn out. Perks of having me around.”
Eliot didn’t ask what that meant.
His new room was surprisingly neat—queen-sized bed, desk, wardrobe, and a big window overlooking the street. It smelled faintly of cinnamon, like the hallway.
Lucien- Ml
“You can unpack,” Lucien said, leaning on the doorframe.
Lucien- Ml
“Or… we could get to know each other first.”
Eliot eyed him suspiciously.
Eliot Cruz- MC
“What does that mean?”
Lucien tilted his head, those golden eyes gleaming.
Lucien- Ml
“I’m good at… breaking the ice.”
OHHHH.... 🤨SUS
.
.
.
.
Lucien took a slow step forward, his voice dropping low.
Lucien- Ml
“Most people take weeks to feel comfortable around a stranger. But with me… it usually takes minutes.”
Eliot backed up slightly until the back of his legs hit the bed.
Eliot Cruz- MC
“You’re really bad at personal space.”
Lucien countered, standing just close enough that Eliot could see the faint scar above his eyebrow.
Lucien- Ml
“Or really good at it,”
A tense beat passed—then Lucien reached up, brushing a raindrop from Eliot’s hair. His touch was warm.
