Chapter 4

After Yoongi had left, Jimin went straight to his room, tears streaming down his face. He put his bag down, closed the door, and walked quietly to the wardrobe.

There, he retrieved a photograph from beneath the clothes and settled on the floor.

Looking at the photo of a beautiful woman, a handsome man, and two twin boys, he began to sob, his voice choked with grief. "Why did eomma and appa leave us alone?" he cried.

His words, now tinged with pain, continued, "Eomma, you remember how Tae used to say I'm too sensitive and timid, that I get scared easily and cry over little things?

How could he cause me so much pain? Why did he separate me from you and leave me alone?" With his head buried in his knees, he begged for answers, overwhelmed by the agony that seemed to tear at his insides.

"Why am I crying? Why should I cry?" he wondered aloud.

"If I cry, I will only make Tae suffer just as he made me suffer, leaving me isolated and tarnished in everyone's eyes."

After a long while of weeping, as hatred took hold, Jimin spoke with newfound resolve. "I despise you, Taehyung, my own brother, because you truly deserve it. You took my parents from me, you stole my childhood desires. You've been so brave, showing off your courage to everyone. Now you'll see the consequences of your bravery."

Wiping his tears with the back of his hand, he looked at the photo of the twin boys and smiled wryly.

"We're so far apart, Tae, so far, and I don't think we'll ever be close again." He gently brushed his hand over the face of one of the children in the picture, murmuring to himself.

"He fainted due to some weakness, but now he's fine," Hoseok said with a relieved smile, addressing Min Eun-je, who had been anxiously waiting.

"Thank God," Min Eun-je replied, her eyes studying Hoseok's face as he sighed in relief.

"I should let appa know; he must be worried," Hoseok said. After a brief pause, he stepped aside as Min Eun-je went into the room.

Approaching Yoongi, Hoseok asked casually, "Does Jimin know about Taehyung's condition?"

"Yes..." Yoongi managed only this short reply.

"And what did he say? Didn't he come?" Hoseok asked, his gaze probing.

"You know it's not easy for them to meet," Yoongi replied, not pausing.

"Then I'll have to do something," Hoseok said with a smile, his mind racing as he headed towards Taehyung's room.

The golden sunlight was warm and soothing on the skin as many people jogged along the track while others sat on benches, enjoying the day. Among them was Jeon Jungkook. Wearing earbuds and a gray jogging suit, he stood out with his imposing six-foot frame, black hair, mysterious onyx eyes, and a milky-white complexion. His tattoos and piercings, along with a proud nose, exuded an enigmatic and captivating presence.

Everyone passing by couldn't help but glance at him repeatedly, and girls found themselves mesmerized by his striking appearance.

"I don't care what he says now; he probably doesn't know Jeon Jungkook," he thought, growing irritated. He ended the call abruptly, removed his earbuds, and sat down on a bench.

"Hello," a girl who was passing by mustered the courage to sit beside him and tried to strike up a conversation, but received no response. "Excuse me, handsome," she tried again, determined to succeed today.

Jungkook shifted his gaze slightly towards her at the sound of her voice.

"My name is Lee Mina. What's yours?" she asked, blinking as he looked at her.

"Jeon," he said, dismissing her hand and simply stating his name. Mina, feeling disheartened, let her hand drop and began to think of something else.

"Can we be friends?" she asked eagerly, her eyes drawn to the enigmatic marks on his face. She was tempted to reach out and touch them but felt her courage falter in the face of his intimidating demeanor.

Jungkook saw the determination in her eyes and noticed a glimmer that seemed to break through all barriers. "Yes, if you remove your eyes," he said, his words causing Mina's eyes to widen in shock.

"What?" she exclaimed, standing up in a panic.

"Yes," he confirmed, and without another word, he got up and walked towards his car.

Lee Mina stood there, stunned, watching his broad back as he walked away. When she felt the seriousness in his demeanor, she ran her tongue over her lips and took a swig from her water bottle.

"Did you know that DCG Hoseok is in love with a blind boy who happens to live with him?" Kim Ji-eun said to Hawk and Jungkook as she sat in the drawing-room, applying blue nail polish.

Hawk stopped smiling at her comment. "And why do you need to know that?"

"Well, it's important to know the enemy's weaknesses," Ji-eun said, casting a sidelong glance at Jungkook, who was marking something on a map on the table.

"Ji-eun, what brings you here?" Jungkook asked, his tone showing interest.

"I was just bored in the dorm, so I came over," she replied, putting on an innocent face.

"Well, it's time for you to leave," Jungkook said dismissively.

"But Jungkook, I want to stay here," she whined.

"Hawk, show her the way out," Jungkook instructed, noting Ji-eun's flushed face. Hawk stood up.

"There's no need, I'll leave myself," Ji-eun said, putting her blue nail polish away, shaking her hair, and standing up. She gave a lingering glance and a smile to Hawk before leaving.

"Leaving so soon, Ji-eun?" Kim Namjoon asked as he entered the drawing-room, holding a paper and observing her red, petite nose.

"Yes, it's been a while here," she replied, turning to glance at the indifferent Jungkook before exiting.

"What happened to her?" Namjoon asked, raising an eyebrow and looking at Hawk.

"She's a moody girl," Hawk replied.

"Here's the flight time and meeting location," Namjoon said, handing the paper to Jungkook.

Jungkook folded the map and took the paper from Namjoon.

Min Eun-je, noticing him getting up, asked, "How are you feeling now?"

"I'm feeling fine," Taehyung replied.

"See the result of your stubbornness," Min Eun-je said, retrieving a clean shirt and joggers from the wardrobe for him. After returning from the hospital, Taehyung had gone back to sleep.

"Alright, change into this, and I'll send the food up," she instructed.

"Okay," Taehyung nodded in agreement. "Where is Minie?" he asked, twisting his hands.

"He came back from college and has just woken up," Min Eun-je answered, her eyes lingering on Taehyung's lovely face.

"How is Mr. Kim now?" Yoongi asked as he and Hoseok entered the room together.

"I'm doing well, Mr. Min," he replied playfully.

"Ahem... sir, I'm also here," Hoseok added, making his presence known.

"I know, there's no need to remind me," Taehyung said with a laugh. When Yoongi raised his eyebrows meaningfully, Hoseok scratched his head in confusion.

"Thank you, Mr. Min," Taehyung said with a charming smile and a slight bow of his head.

Min Eun-je gave both of them a stern look and told them to go for dinner before leaving the room.

"Okay, I'm heading out to see my friends," Yoongi said, adjusting his collar and smiling as he left.

"I'm sorry, Tae. My mistake caused you to fall into depression," Hoseok said, looking at his soft hands with a hint of embarrassment.

"You shouldn't be embarrassed, Hoseok hyung. It wasn't your fault," Taehyung quickly replied, trying to comfort him. Hoseok smiled in response.

"I have some good news for you. Tomorrow, it will change your life," Hoseok said, placing his hand over Tae's.

Taehyung smiled, nodding, and freed his hand from the gentle grip.

"Alright, you freshen up. Eomma will be sending the food soon," Hoseok said as he left the room, making Taehyung smile faintly.

"I wish that were true," he sighed, his heart heavy with a hopeful uncertainty.

"Hoseok, what are you doing here at this hour?" Min Eun-je asked, a bit surprised to see him in her room at midnight.

"No, Mom, why are you still awake?" he asked, sitting on the sofa in her room.

"Yes, time seems to pass slowly when your appa isn't here," she said, putting aside her book and removing her glasses.

Hoseok smiled at her. "Love is just like that, isn't it? Don't you think?" he said, his expression mischievous though he was speaking from the heart.

"Maybe," Min Eun-je chuckled. "Now tell me, is there something important that you need at this hour?"

"Yes, eomma, I needed to discuss something with you and appa, but since appa isn't here and I can't wait any longer, I wanted your opinion," he said, taking her hands in his, looking serious.

"What's so urgent that even my patient son can't wait?"

Min Eun-je asked, smiling as she gently ran her hand through his hair.

Taehyung, who was stepping out of the adjacent room to get some water, overheard their conversation and paused, curious.

"Tae, it's very wrong to eavesdrop on someone's private conversation," he told himself, biting his lip in distress.

"I'm not eavesdropping. The words just reached my ears," he corrected himself, pouting as he remained where he was.

"Eomma, I want to marry Taehyung," Hoseok said directly, looking at Min Eun-je's blank face.

Taehyung, standing outside, tried to compose himself but was stopped in his tracks by Min Eun-je's next words. He greatly valued Hoseok's love but wasn't ready for marriage just yet.
