At the end of the hall stood two men.
One wore regal red and gold. He radiated Power but smiled like an old friend.
The other stood quietly beside him, hands gloved, expression unreadable.

This is her the exchange student from the human world.

Their stares weren’t cruel, but cautious. Like she was a puzzle they weren’t sure they wanted to solve.

Just a tired demon and a quiet girl… walking.
Before her stood the House of Lamentation.
An ancient mansion with towering halls, twisting staircases, and chandeliers that flickered even without wind.

(She stepped inside.)

Aight, welcome to your new prison.

As they walked through the halls, their footsteps echoed on the marble floor.
The walls were lined with portraits that watched, and doors that creaked even when closed.

The air was warmer.

And just outside, a loud demon stood pretending not to care.

Mammon walks along the hallway. In his mind was confused.

Her first night in the House of Lamentation was quiet.
Just silence.
She curled up on the unfamiliar bed, staring at the ceiling.
She should’ve felt safe.
But her body still waited for danger.
Then her eyes slowly close. She falls asleep.
