[Scene opens – Mansion hallway, night]
I shouldn’t be here again.
And yet... I walked straight back into the trap.
Aarav had left the door half-open.
Like he knew I’d return.
Like he wanted me to.
Aarav Virani
You look pale.
Saanvi Arora
(quietly)
You erased my records.
You told me my brother was murdered.
And now you’re acting like we’re on a first-name basis?
He didn’t answer. He just walked past me, brushing slightly against my shoulder.
That tiny contact sent a weird jolt through me.
It shouldn’t have. But it did.
Aarav Virani
Come upstairs.
There’s something you need to see.
[Scene – Upstairs office | Door clicks shut behind them]
The room smelled faintly of him warm, dark, and sharp.
I hated how my body noticed.
My back hit the edge of the desk behind me as he walked past, pulling out a drawer.
Saanvi Arora
What are you looking for?
Aarav Virani
(voice low)
The files your brother left.
The ones they told you never existed.
He placed a thick envelope down. The air between us crackled.
But my eyes weren’t on the file. They were on him.
His sleeves were rolled. A single button on his collar was undone.
He looked tired... but still impossibly sharp.
And somehow... unbearably close.
Saanvi Arora
Why do you keep bringing me here?
Aarav Virani
(steps closer)
Because I want to.
Because you don’t run, even when you should.
My chest tightened.
He was just inches away now. His hand rested beside mine on the desk.
Not touching. Just… near.
I couldn’t move. My breath felt stuck between inhale and regret.
Aarav Virani
(voice softer)
Your heartbeat’s racing.
Saanvi Arora
(flustered)
I-It’s not.
Aarav Virani
Then why are you shaking?
My hand had started trembling. I pulled it back quickly but not before his fingers brushed against mine.
Heat shot up my arm.
I hated this. I hated him.
But... I couldn’t stop staring at his lips.
Saanvi Arora
(blushing)
D-Don’t look at me like that.
Aarav Virani
(voice low, unblinking)
Like what?
Saanvi Arora
Like you’re going to-
But I didn’t finish the sentence.
Because suddenly, the space between us disappeared.
His hand slid around my waist. Gently. Testing. Waiting.
Aarav Virani
Tell me to stop.
His breath was warm against my cheek. My knees weakened.
The desk behind me felt like the only thing keeping me standing.
Saanvi Arora
(whispers)
...I can’t.
His lips touched mine soft, slow, dangerous.
Not the kiss of a man who wanted to own me.
But of someone trying to hold back something explosive.
And yet... when I kissed him back, even for a second...
I felt myself falling.
One kiss wasn’t supposed to change anything.
But it did.
✨ Next: Chapter 5 – Files of the Dead
The documents reveal a pattern of coverups… and names Saanvi was never meant to see.
And in the shadows, someone else is watching her every move.
She crossed a line tonight, one she might never come back from.
Will she regret it… or crave more?
