I woke up today too with my daughter's sweet sugary voice falling into my ears.

Daddy, get up!! It's time for our morning walk together
She said shaking my sleeping body.

Daddy, hurry. Get up.
My daughter Ahana. She is only six years old. After Krutika moved out, she was staying with just me.
Krutika, my wife. We are separated now, not divorced though because I know somewhere deep down I still love her and I just cannot stop loving her even after what she did to me.
Krutika claims that she loves me too and asked me to forgive her multiple times now but, I just cannot forget and let go of what she did to me.
Two years ago, I caught Krutika naked, under the sheets with my best friend and fellow professor Kairav Sharma.
When I asked for an explanation, she didn't try to hide anything from me and told me that it was a mistake and that she got carried away.
I thought I could forgive her, but whenever I used to be with her, a picture of how she was moaning under Kairav, crying and begging for him to fuck her comes to my mind and I just couldn't do anything further.
So, we mutually decided that she should move out. It was better for both of us. Being in a spark-less relationship just because we have a child together was going to bring us no good. We won't be happy and so, our child won't be happy either.
She offered me the custody of our baby girl on her own saying that I was the better parent.
I have heard that she has started dating again. We are not divorced yet but still, I can understand her needs and just remain quiet.
I don't try to go out on dates. Why? Because I still love Krutika and I just couldn't think about another woman.
So, to keep my mind off my loneliness, I try to make myself busy with certain things. The college helps. My days pass by just fine dealing with my bratty little daughter and those spoiled kids at college.
I pushed myself up from the bed and looked at her.

Seriously honey, how do you wake up earlier than me?

I have to be responsible now that mamma doesn't live with us anymore
She said seriously. I couldn't believe her. When did my little dumpling grow up so much?
I ruffled her hair lovingly and smiled at her. I got off the bed and wore my slippers to get over my morning routine.
I got changed into my joggers and went out with Ahana for a morning walk. She sat on my bed swaying her legs back and forth and waited for me patiently to finish.
We jogged together for an hour. I was blessed to have Ahana and somewhat thankful to Krutika for letting me have her custody without a courtroom drama.
Ahana was the light of my life, and she was just as happy to be with me, which I am really thankful for.
