Dangerous Embrace: Golden Cage
Chapter 3: Unwanted Deliveries
Isabella's small apartment in the East Village.
Isabella unlocking her apartment door, a bag of groceries in one hand. She frowns, noticing a large, unmarked bouquet of pristine white roses leaning against her door.
On the other hand, Liam in his penthouse suite, high above the city, staring at a live feed from a discreet camera placed near Isabella's apartment. He watches her pick up the roses, a small, puzzled smile on her face.
Liam
She likes white roses. Not red. Not pink. Simple.
While Marco standing beside him, holding a tablet.
Marco
Sir, the florist confirmed delivery. Paid in cash, no traceable information. No one followed the delivery driver.
While, Isabella took the roses inside, sniffing them. There's no card, no sender's name. She places them in a vase, a slight unease beginning to settle over her.
Isabella
Who would send me flowers? I haven't given my address to anyone new.
Liam watches her through the screen, a possessive glint in his eyes. He sees her confusion, her slight apprehension. He likes that. He likes knowing he's the source of her thoughts.
Liam
She'll grow accustomed to it.
Later that evening, she's trying to concentrate on her online art class, but her mind keeps drifting back to the flowers. Then, her doorbell rings. She peeks through the peephole and sees a large, elegantly wrapped box.
Liam smiling faintly as he sees her hesitant approach to the door on the feed.
Liam
A small token. Something to pique her interest.
Isabella opens the door cautiously. The box is heavy. Inside, nestled on a bed of silk, is a brand new, high-end art tablet and stylus. Her jaw drops.
Isabella
What?! This is… insane. This must be a mistake!
Liam smile widens. He knows it's not a mistake. He knows she'll eventually realize who's behind it. And when she does, she'll be entirely his.
