Silent Wings - Chapter 1 – A Sky I Can’t Reach

🌙 Yuki’s POV It’s always the same sky. Endless. Soft. Pale blue — The kind of sky that looks like it’s holding something back. That’s where it starts. The dream. I stand alone on a hill under a sky too silent. A shadow passes over me — wings, maybe? I reach out. But it’s always too far. Then a voice, low and broken, whispers my name like it’s a promise: > “Yuki…” I wake up crying. Every time. --- “I think someone’s watching me,” I told Rina at lunch. My voice sounded ridiculous even to me. “Creepy!” she laughed, but paused. “Wait, do you mean like a stalker? Or like… ‘I-feel-a-ghost-behind-me’ watching?” I hesitated. “The second one.” She stared. “Yuki, seriously?” “I’m serious,” I whispered. “But it’s not scary. It’s... sad. It feels like someone’s waiting for me to remember something.” --- Sometimes, when I walk home alone, I feel warmth brush my shoulder like a breeze that’s not from the wind. A scent I can’t name. A presence I can’t explain. But when I turn — no one’s there. I don’t know if I’m going crazy. Or if someone’s really out there, protecting me. Or waiting. ---

🕊️ Aurel’s POV I stayed hidden behind the rusted gate of the old school building. From here, I could see him — his laughter, his footsteps, the wind in his hair. He was happy today. I was glad. I’m not supposed to be this close. But I always end up here. Just to make sure he’s safe. Just to see him. > He doesn’t know me. But I’ve watched him live and die a hundred times. And every time, I fall all over again. --- He looked over his shoulder once. Right through me. I held my breath. But he shook his head and walked away. He didn’t see me. Good. Because if he sees me — really sees me — I won’t be able to let go again. ---
