2. Rewriting
Yn stood in front of the glass elevator, her heart hammering against her ribs. The reflections on the mirror walls confirmed what she feared. She wasn’t dreaming.
This was real. Somehow, impossibly, she had entered J.K. Moon’s final novel—the very story she despised.
And she wasn’t the protagonist. She was the jealous ex. The character everyone would come to hate by chapter 20.
She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath.
Yn
Okay. Think, Yn. Think. You know how this ends. Jungkook gets hurt. Jimin gets the girl. And Minji forgives everyone except you
The elevator doors opened to the 25th floor—Heaven Corp's executive floor. She stepped into a corridor filled with tension and the smell of over brewed coffee.
At the far end stood Jeon Jungkook
He looked exactly as the author had described him—denim shirt, sleeves rolled to the elbows, and a face too beautiful for this world. Dough eyes, jawline like sin, and an expression too gentle to be a CEO
JK
Yn I didn’t think you’d come.
His voice was low, cautious.
Yn swallowed. She remembered this scene. This was where the villainess threatened Minji’s promotion—and Jungkook begged her to stop.
Yn
We need to talk. About Minji. About everything.
JK
You’re... calmer than I expected.
She said simply, walking past him into the meeting room.
For the next hour, she steered the conversation in a new direction—protecting Minji’s reputation, removing herself from the decision, and suggesting a mentorship plan for Minji instead of punishment.
Jungkook stared at her the entire time, like she was some unfamiliar painting he couldn’t stop studying.
JK
I didn’t think you had this in you
He said finally after the meeting
That night, Yn lay in a bed too big, in a penthouse too quiet. The city lights blinked outside, but her gaze was fixed on the ceiling. The room was luxurious—polished marble, imported linens, curated art pieces—but none of it felt real.
Because it wasn’t. None of this was hers. None of this was meant to be.
She turned on her side, staring at the dimly glowing clock: 1:34 a.m
She sat up, rubbed her face, and slowly walked over to the full-length mirror.
The woman who stared back wasn’t her..Confident. Sharp. Beautiful. But cold.
This wasn’t the real Yn. This was the villainess she’d read about. The woman the original readers loved to hate. The woman is destined to fall—publicly, painfully.
She opened the sleek silver laptop on the desk and started reading every file she could about Minji, about Jungkook, about Heaven Corp’s structure, scandals, and press. If she had to survive in this world, she needed to be smarter.
For once, she wouldn’t play by the script. She would rewrite the story. Not for redemption. Not even for love. But for control.
Still, as she scrolled through old press photos of Jungkook with Minji, something twisted inside her. The way he looked at Minji in those images—soft, sincere, protective—it reminded her of something she'd never had. Not even in her real life.
Yn
was it admiration or longing
She slammed the laptop shut.
Perhaps it's jealousy she thinks..
Yn
I’m not here for that. I’m not going to fall in love with anyone..
But as she stood and looked out the window, the emptiness in her chest said otherwise.
Somewhere between her death and this new life, she’d lost herself. Now she had a second chance. And she wasn’t sure if that was a gift or a curse.
Yn
I'll change it.. Minji is going to choose Jungkook.. I'll rewrite this story as it is supposed to be
Outside, the night deepened. And far across the city, the story she thought she knew was already beginning to change.
