I told myself I was overthinking. I even checked my phone again—maybe it was a prank, maybe Sun-woo was messing with me. He swore he wasn't.
So why did I feel like my skin was buzzing?
---
After lunch, Sun-woo dragged me to the library under the excuse of "group study". Which was code for him stealing my notes while pretending he understood stats.
Lee Sun-woo [MC bff]
Hyung, explain this part to me like I'm five.
Jae-hyun [MC]
I'd rather not insult five-year-old.
He threw a pencil at me. I threw it back. Min-ho, somehow roped into this too, sat across from us, headphones on, pretending he wasn't eavesdropping.
---
After a while, I slipped away to get coffee from the vending machine in the hall. Anything to wake me up.
That's when I saw him.
The same guy from lunch—some black hoodie, same blank stare. He was leaning against a wall across from the vending machine, just.. standing there. Like he'd been waiting.
I pressed the button for my coffee and avoided looking at him. Maybe if I didn't make eye contact—
???
You dropped this.
His voice was softer than i expected. I turned. He held out a pen — my pen, I guess.
Jae-hyun [MC]
Oh. Thanks.
I reached out. His fingers brushed mine. Cold.
He didn't say anything else. Just watched me. Like I'd do something interesting if he stared long enough.
I mumbled a quick "see you" and backed away.

Back at the table, Sun-woo was doodling nonsense on my notebook. Min-ho was pretending not to exist.
Lee Sun-woo [MC bff]
Why do you look like you saw a ghost?
Jae-hyun [MC]
Maybe I did.
Sun-woo laughed. Min-ho didn't. He was watching me now too, frowning.
I didn't tell them. About the photo. About the guy.
If i said it out loud. it'd feel real.
And i really, really didn't wanted it to feel real.
