Stone Corridor Near the Training Yard

The estate is quiet now. Crickets chirp softly. A lantern flickers gently as LAN YAN steps out from the guest room, carefully closing the door behind him after checking on Lan Yuri one last time.

He walks alone down the long, stone path — the moon casting his shadow against the walls. Every step echoes faintly in the stillness.

LIN YAN POV [INTERNAL MONOLOGUE]

Lan Yan [Alpha] MC

...I died.

Lan Yan [Alpha] MC

I really died. That damn wedding. His voice... “I don’t love you.”

He clenches his jaw, his breath sharp.

Seven years wasted… All for what?

Watching him smile at someone else?

And now I wake up in a world where swords and blood rule over law and justice.

A sudden breeze makes his robe flutter slightly. He looks up — the sky here seems larger than he remembers.

...This body isn’t mine, but these memories… they feel real.

He stops walking as a flash of memory hits him — Lan Yuri crying in the ruins, hiding in his arms. Blood on the floor. Their father's voice calling his name: Yan'er... protect your brother.

Lan Yan [Alpha] MC

*Fists clenching* I will. I swear it...

His voice is rough now, quiet but full of steel.

Lan Yan [Alpha] MC

Yuri’s just like me. Born into chaos. Surrounded by liars and blades.

He gazes into the distance — toward the west tower where the training yard lies, his new room just ahead. The air smells of sweat, wood, and iron. Familiar already.

Lan Yan [Alpha] MC

But he’ll never be alone. Not while I’m still breathing.

If the world tries to take him from me—

He touches the scar near his temple where the rock struck earlier, eyes dark.

Lan Yan [Alpha] MC

I’ll burn the world down first.❄️

He enters his quarters near the training yard. It’s sparse — just a bed, a wooden stand for weapons, a bucket of water. He doesn’t mind. This is enough.

As he lies down on the hard bedding, he exhales slowly. One hand rests near where a sword would be.

Lan Yan [Alpha] MC

I may have lost my old life... but I’ve been given another chance.

Lan Yan [Alpha] MC

This time, no one will take what’s mine.
