The TV in Jungkook's’s living room was on, but the sound was barely audible over the ruckus Bam was running in frantic circles chasing an imaginary bug.
Jungkook, wrapped in a thick fluffy blanket, was sipping banana milk and flipping through channels aimlessly.
“Breaking News: Kim Taehyung Discharged from the Military Today!”
That was the sound of his milk carton falling to the floor. Bam paused mid-spin to bark at the mess.
Jungkook blinked at the screen, stunned for a moment. Taehyung's face his grown-up,
Buzzcut but still hot face flashed on the screen as fans screamed in the background, waving banners like it was a rock concert.
Jungkook smiled. No beamed!
His face lit up so brightly it could’ve powered Seoul for a week.

Bam Barked in agreement. Or maybe because Banana milk was seeping into the carpet.
He jumped up, grabbed his phone, and immediately texted the group chat-
Kook🐇: HE’S BACK
Kook🐇: BACK BACK BACK
[Jiminie💛]: we know, you absolute simp
[Yoongs😴]: you screamed it into the mic at 8am, Jungkook.
[Namjoon📚]: do you need help calming down?
Kook🐇: help?? what I need is a skincare routine. I HAVE TO LOOK PERFECT.
[Seokjin🐹]: He’s been gone 2 years, not 10. You still look like a prince.
Kook🐇: I NEED TO LOOK LIKE A KING 💅🏻
He jumped up and bolted toward his closet like he was being chased by paparazzi.
Jungkook stood in front of his mirror, wearing a loose silk shirt unbuttoned just enough to show off collarbone, with subtle shimmer highlighter and a light gloss on his lips. His hair was styled just so, falling over one eye.

Then he ran back and added a spritz of Taehyung’s favorite cologne. Just in "case".
