The Cultivation – Part 2

"Am I still alive...?" Inosuke thought.

His body was numb—completely unresponsive. It was as if his mouth had been removed; he couldn't speak, couldn't even open his eyes. Darkness consumed everything.

As his awareness slowly returned, his body began to tear apart from the inside.

The pain surged violently. But he couldn’t scream. He couldn’t even flinch. His nerves were frozen. And yet, as each part of him was destroyed, it instantly reformed.

☆ [RESUMING LINKING] ☆

"Wait... what?"

The voice again. He had dismissed it as a hallucination earlier, but clearly, it was real.

☆ [LINKING AT 95%] ☆

From bones to tissue, cells to muscle, and finally skin—his entire body was being reconstructed at an impossible speed. The pain intensified for one last, unbearable moment—until—

☆ [LINKING COMPLETE] ☆

☆ [NEW HOST POWER: DEMI-GOD] ☆

"Demi-god power? What does that even mean?"

His mind raced. Then suddenly, it felt like his entire body was wrapped inside a void—cold, suffocating, endless—and then—

He opened his eyes.

"I'm... home? How...?"

He sat up in bed, scanning the room for clues. Nothing made sense. He recognized everything—but none of it explained how he got back here.

He stepped out of his room, thoughts spinning.

What day is it? What was that voice? What happened at the mall?

He opened his sister’s door. She sat motionless in her wheelchair, just as she always had.

He exhaled in relief. She's okay...

He closed the door and moved to the living room. On the table sat his outdated phone. He picked it up and checked the date.

"23/12/2024!! HOW!?"

A whole week had passed.

Who fed her medication? What happened to me?

He took deep breaths to calm himself.

"Panicking won't help. Stick to the routine. Find answers later."

Hours later, Inosuke sat in a meditative pose, eyes closed. He focused his mind, slowed his breathing, and calmed his thoughts.

☆ [15 Qi Acquired] ☆

The voice echoed again. This time, it didn’t shake him.

"That voice... What is it?"

Before he could question further, knowledge flooded his mind. It wasn’t spoken—it was understood. The voice came from a cultivation system passed down from the First Generation of Humans. But everything else was blocked.

His eyes shot open in shock.

The shrine guardian... This must be what he meant.

Excitement surged in his chest. He had powers now.

He looked down at his hands.

"Let’s see what I can do..."

He held his palm forward.

"Fire!"

His body glowed faintly—then the light vanished. Nothing.

"Okay... Ice!"

Still nothing.

"Guess no elemental powers… Maybe super speed?"

He rushed to his room, changed into gym clothes, and headed outside.

At the gate, he did a light warm-up.

"Even if this is pointless, exercise won’t hurt."

And he ran.

For two hours straight.

When he returned home, soaked in sweat, something triggered.

☆ [15 Speed Acquired] ☆

"Speed... So that’s real too."

He smiled slightly, stepping inside.

Over the next week, Inosuke pushed himself harder than ever. Meditating, training, exercising daily. And with each effort—

☆ [Strength Acquired: 15]

☆ [Qi Acquired: 15]

☆ [Endurance Acquired: 30]

☆ [Speed Acquired: 15]

☆ [Resistance Acquired: 20] ☆

His body was evolving. The power was growing. He was becoming more than human.

Until one day—

☆ [TASK: CAPTURE A PLANET] ☆

His eyes widened.

His body froze.

"Capture... a planet?"

The system’s voice echoed again, clearer this time.

The Qi within him surged. The mission was clear.

It was time to conquer.

His heart pounded faster than ever before.

Sweat dripped from his forehead. His hands trembled.

"What... the hell is this power?"
