Chapter 1
I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing.
I said in a sleepy voice.
My mom's on the other line.
Mrs. Archer
You! How's your roommate?
Mrs. Archer
Did he get there safely?
Santiago Ace
Why are you more worried about him than me?
Mrs. Archer
You're a grown ass man.
So is he! He's only one year younger, the fuck?
Mrs. Archer
Anyway, is he doing fine?
Santiago Ace
He's fine... jeez...
Mrs. Archer
Alright, you have to take care of him from now on okay? He'll be going to the same University, he's first year. Also, he's kind of introverted, make sure to help him socialize.
Santiago Ace
Yeah, whatever.
Mrs. Archer
Listen, you brat, you better not pick a fight with him.
Mrs. Archer
If I just get a complaint from him that you're treating him badly, I'll deduct that on your allowance. Understood? This is your aunt's (Louise's mom) favor.
What? Deduct?! Ridiculous...
I stood up and got to the bathroom.
I finished washing up and brushing my teeth.
I got out, only wearing a towel on my lower body, while I dry my hair with another towel.
Santiago Ace
Who the fuck is burning down my kitchen?
Yeah, there he is, cooking something.
He doesn't look like someone who cooks. I mean... Look at him burning down my kitchen.
Why the hell is he even trying to cook?
I leaned against the counter.
He hasn't noticed me yet, he's panicking badly on what to do with the burnt "something" he's cooking.
See, I can't even figure out what he's trying to cook... It's too burnt.
Santiago Ace
What are you doing?
He jolted and nervously looked at me.
I raised my brows when he looked a bit teary.
But he tried to be composed.
Santiago Ace
Sigh... Get outta way.
I pulled myself up and walked towards the stove, calmly turning it off.
Hm... I can feel him scared behind me.
I smirked. Should I do a little teasing?
I'm going to try and break his composure.
I turned my face with a serious expression, brow raised as I faced him.
He's looking up at me, confusingly, his nose red again. Redder than usual. He's literally tearing up.
Santiago Ace
Just what the hell?
He jolted again, his shoulder hardened.
I find him funny. But my expression remained the same.
Wow, he seems softer than last night. His tone last night was composed but flushed. Still, I can tell the difference from yesterday to now.
He's on the verge of crying. I couldn't hold back anymore and laughed.
Santiago Ace
You... hahaha!
Santiago Ace
Are you sure you're a man?
He defensively said. Tone serious.
I raised my brow, my cheeky smile is still appearing.
Santiago Ace
But to be honest, you look prettier than a girl.
Santiago Ace
Do you hit the gym even?
Louise
No... Not fond of it.
Santiago Ace
Whatever, I'm not mad, I was just teasing you.
Santiago Ace
Why are you cooking anyways? You don't seem to know how to cook...
Santiago Ace
Or did you get hungry?
Santiago Ace
Sorry, man. You see, I slept pretty late.
Louise
I was trying to make a hangover food...
Santiago Ace
For me? Why's that?
That's new. No one's ever tried.
Not even my mom. I rolled my eyes at the thought.
Louise
You see... Last night...
It's to make it up for last night.
Silly, his way of apologizing is this?
Santiago Ace
Nah... Why push it when you can't do it?
Santiago Ace
But you know, you interrupted my steamy night...
Santiago Ace
Hahaha! There you go again.
Santiago Ace
No, I was just kidding.
He looked at me, squinting his eyes—almost like a glare, lol. He's getting annoyed. Haha!
Santiago Ace
Well... Thanks for the thought I guess?
Louise
I'll just clean this up...
Oh shit, I realized I haven't dressed yet. I should get ready now. I'm going to our volleyball practice. This is use of free will, even as a captain, I can still be late. Ha-ha-ha! Commoners.
