Episode-4

Sahumi: "W...who are you?!"

Sahumi stood frozen in the doorway, her heart racing, the confusion evident in her wide eyes. She had stepped into the wrong room, and now a foreign man stood before her—looking just as startled as she felt.

Marlowe Carnez: confused, but calm “Umm... ¿Hola?"

Sahumi blinked, trying to process the situation, her mind racing. Is he a thief? But he doesn’t look like one... Wait—why is he in our room? She frantically looked around, trying to figure out what was going on, her thoughts tangled. Then, as if the universe was giving her a sign, she noticed the engraved symbol on the door was different.

Sahumi: eyes widening, realization hitting her like a ton of bricks "Oh no... I... I’m in the wrong room!"

Her face turned bright red with embarrassment, and she instinctively began bowing 90 degrees, repeatedly apologizing for the mistake.

Sahumi: “I’m really sorry! I misunderstood! I’m so sorry!!” Bowing over and over, frantic and embarrassed

Before Marlowe could respond or even understand what was happening, Sahumi turned on her heel, slammed the door shut, and dashed out of the room. Her heart pounded in her chest as she rushed to her actual room, cursing herself for such an embarrassing mistake.

She struggled with the keys to her own room, fumbling with them until she finally managed to open the door and slip inside.

Sahumi: falling onto the couch, hands covering her face in sheer humiliation "I can’t believe I just did that…"

The words echoed in her head as she replayed the scene: the foreigner’s confused face, her own idiotic question, the awkward stammering… Ugh, I’m an absolute mess!

Meanwhile, Marlowe stood in front of the wrong room, utterly confused. He took a deep breath, trying to make sense of the encounter. After a few moments, he chuckled to himself—how strange, but somehow amusing.

Marlowe Carnez: muttering under his breath "Well, that was an interesting start to my evening..."

He gave a small smile before grabbing his jacket and walking out of the hallway, heading in the opposite direction.

Meanwhile, Sahumi, still flushed with embarrassment, stood quietly in her own room, trying to calm herself before she faced her sister again.

Sahumi twirled along with the rhythm, her shyness melting away under the vibrant lights and infectious music. With Wakumi by her side, they both laughed and spun with carefree abandon, their cheeks flushed with excitement.

The dancers, adorned in shimmering outfits with bright flowers in their hair, circled the gathering guests, encouraging everyone to join. The whole scene sparkled under the golden sunset light, casting a warm glow over the beachside buffet.

As Sahumi danced, completely caught up in the moment, she was unaware that someone was watching her from a distance, leaning casually against one of the wooden posts near the edge of the gathering.

It was Marlowe Carnez.

He had wandered over to the buffet area after his encounter with the mysterious girl earlier, partly curious and partly amused. He hadn't expected to see her again, but there she was—dancing with a bright smile, her earlier embarrassment seemingly forgotten. He recognized her instantly, noting the playful bond she shared with the other girl, who must have been her sister.

Marlowe's lips curved into a faint smirk.

So, you’re not just clumsy but also full of life, he thought to himself, folding his arms as he continued to watch her with mild curiosity.

Meanwhile, on the dance floor, Sahumi had no idea of the watchful eyes on her. After a few more minutes of dancing, the song ended with loud applause from the gathered guests. Sahumi and Wakumi returned to their table, flushed and laughing, high on the joyous energy of the moment.

Mrs Moric (Saki): "You were amazing, Sahumi! I’m so proud of you!"

Mr Moric (Harutoshi): "That’s my girl! You stole the show!"

Wakumi: "Yeah, yeah, my wish was worth it!" 😏

Sahumi giggled, shaking her head. “You’re impossible, Wakumi.”

Mr Henry approached them, clapping. “The whole family’s got spirit, I see! How about we grab some of the local delicacies 'snacks' before continuing the dance show?”

The family agreed, and they headed over to the beautifully arranged tables of tropical fruits and dishes. Sahumi’s earlier embarrassment had completely melted into the evening’s warmth. She filled her plate with a mix of sweet and savory treats while chatting with Wakumi and their parents.

But as they sat down and began to eat, Sahumi felt an odd sensation—a slight chill, as if someone’s gaze was still on her. She glanced over her shoulder and briefly locked eyes with a tall, dark-haired man leaning against a nearby post. He was watching her with a small, knowing smile.

It was him.

Sahumi’s face turned pink as recognition flooded her. She quickly turned back to her plate, trying to look composed while her heart thudded.

Wakumi noticed her reaction. “What’s wrong, Sahumi? You look like you saw a ghost.”

Sahumi whispered under her breath, “That foreigner from earlier… he’s here.”

Wakumi’s eyes widened, and she turned slightly to sneak a peek. “Ohh, the one you thought was a thief?” she teased with a giggle.

Sahumi sighed. “Don’t make a scene.”

But Marlowe had already caught her glance and, with a subtle nod and a charming smile, he turned and walked away into the evening, leaving Sahumi both confused and oddly intrigued.

Sahumi: thinking to herself "Who is that guy...?"

Sahumi managed to finish her snacks before wakumi pulled her back to the dance floor
