CHAPTER 5 STANDSTILL

This time she made a single spear made entirely of ice. 'Whoosh', the spear disappeared from its spot in an instant appearing before Michel. Michel snapped the spear in two with his sabre. "I'll end this quick". Michel said and he disappeared in an instant. The girl noticing the speed at which he moved set up an ice wall. The ice wall shattered the instant his sabre made contact with it. " How!, he wasn't this fast in the last battle, i studied him thoroughly. Unless, he had a breakthrough during the fight". The girl thought. Michel was about to pierce her head with a thrust of his sabre when a hand made entirely of ice grabbed the sabre. The girl slashed also with her ice sword. Michel countered the attack with a fist of his own. The attack produced shockwaves, destroying their surroundings the more. "He still has stamina and energy to fight with Anne even after that brutal brawl with his brother, he really is a treasure". The instructor thought. "I never thought i would enjoy this fight". Anne said. Michel wore a serious face without uttering a word. His grip on the sabre tightened as he dashed out again. Anne countered the attack with an ice wall waiting for the right time to strike but the attack never came. A sharp pain was felt on her abdome as Michel's katana tore deeper into her abdomen. She screamed in pain. Michel, focused on dealing damage to his opponent completely ignored his surroundings. Ice arrows poured from the sky like rain threatning to eliminate Michel. He withdrew his katana and focused on the incoming attack. The attack made contact with its target. " He'll fall this time". Anne thought. The attack went on for about three minutes. As soon as the attack died down, a bright yellow halo was seen covering Michel. "What the! He wasn't defeated by that attack".Anne blurted out. Both attackers stayed still, each one of them wary of the other's strength.

Meanwhile, in the clinic Chen regained his consciousness. The healer came to examine him before assuring him that he was fine. Chen laid still on the bed with one thought. " I couldn't even land a hit". He kept muttering to himself. "Is the fight still going on?" He asked the healer. "Yes, there's only one ongoing battle, i'll call it an epic battle, the battle between your brother, the heit of the Druig family and Anne, the heiress of the Walker family". The healer explained. Chen walked out of the clinic, heading to the arena to spectate the fight between the two monsters. " This fight seems equal but it hasn't ended". Anne spoke first. "I will be the victor here". Michel said with a smirk on his face. Both of the fighters began to create their strongest attack. Michel's grip on his sabre tightened as the yellow energy emitting out from the sabre became intense , the pressure surrounding him increased drastically. Anne, on the other hand had icicles floating before her, each one of them far stronger than the previous ones. Their surroundings cackled with intense energy that one would think they were masters. " BOOM" Michel made the first move, creating craters beneath his legs. Anne directed all her icicles towards him. With a slash of his sword, all the icicles crumbled as he pushed forward. "Roooaaaarrr", a giant golem made entirely of ice appeared. Michel did not even slow down a bit. He continued pushing forward. He tore the golem apart with a single strike.
