Chapter 5

Before she could get close, Shan kicked her away. Luka looked at her mother coldly. “Mother, are you going to abandon me? You think I’m just like my dead father, someone who should be thrown away?”

The Fox Clan leader, who had been angry about Luka’s earlier behavior, suddenly remembered the dead white moonlight. “I didn’t... why would you think that way, child…”

“Then why did you give away something I nearly died to get?” Luka’s eyes turned red as she spoke, and two clear tears rolled down her cheeks.

She wasn’t stupid. At least for now... she could take down the Fox Clan leader, but there was no need.

Rafael looked at her usually unreasonable and arrogant sister now playing the emotional card, and her face turned dark.

“Sister...” she tried to interrupt Luka and stop the Fox Clan leader from feeling sorry for her.

Luka glanced at her and kicked her. “I’m not your sister. Call me Young Master.”

Then she turned to her mother again. “Mother... am I still the Young Master?”

Looking into Luka’s stubborn eyes and her sad expression, the Fox Clan leader filled in the blanks in her mind.

Was this child always so arrogant because she was afraid of being abandoned?

This really was what the original host felt. But the original only knew how to act tough and never showed weakness.

So while the Fox Clan leader cared for her, she was also sometimes annoyed. And when she saw her second daughter being sweet and obedient, her heart would occasionally waver.

But now, seeing the daughter of her white moonlight cry like this, her heart softened immediately. “What are you saying? That land is yours.”

“No... Mother, that land is mine. You promised me first…” Rafael shouted angrily when she saw Luka and the Fox Clan leader standing together.

Luka said, “Take her away.”

Luka was the Young Master of the Fox Clan and had the clan leader’s favor. The beastmen nearby saw that the Fox Clan leader had no objections, so they stepped up and dragged Rafael away.

Luka stayed behind to speak with the Fox Clan leader for a while before finally leaving.

When she reached the gate, she saw Shan returning with wounds on his body. Luka glanced at him and quickly looked away.

She spoke calmly. “Go find my guards. If Rafael’s people show up, kill them all.”

“Young Master...” Shan looked at Luka with shock and confusion. She seemed different—more like a true Young Master now.

Luka walked across the soft grass. The grass seemed to like her, constantly trying to get close to her.

She didn’t pay much attention to the plants and walked to the mountain peak, looking down below.

“To the south is the Lion Tribe. Behind us is the Saintess Tribe. In front… is the desert, home to the Scorpion and Snake Tribe.” The Fox Clan was actually surrounded by enemies.

As she looked down, her eyes grew firm. Since this place was going to be her territory, it had to grow strong.

Now that she was here… she might as well enjoy everything she could.

The city walls had to be built, the town had to rise, and as for farming... the neighboring Saintess Tribe was already doing that. It would be easy to take it from them.

In the apocalypse, people survived by stealing everything.

Others killed zombies, and you could rob them afterward. If you killed zombies, others could take what you earned too.

[Host, you can’t do this. You’re being too aggressive. You’ll make everyone hate you,] said System Avis, clearly frightened.

Where had it found such a villain? She always wanted to steal, fight, and kill.

Luka didn’t bother replying. “Didn’t you tell me to take it by force? Besides... she’s a Saintess, and I’m the villain. If a villain doesn’t act like one, should I act like a doormat?”

The moment System Avis chose her, it should’ve known she wasn’t a good person. If she were, none of this would’ve happened.

So right now, what Luka needed to do... was to become the boss of this place.

Luka looked at Shan beside her and asked, “What do you think of the Saintess Tribe’s city wall?”

“I think it’s pretty good. The defense is strong,” Shan replied. “But it’s hard for others to learn from it.”

The stone and the energy required to move it are big challenges. Looking at Luka, it wasn’t that he looked down on her, but he felt that some things… seemed a bit unreliable.

Luka smiled when she heard that. “You’re right, it is a bit troublesome…”

Although she was currently the young leader of the Fox Tribe, the problem was… there were still the High Priest and some elders.

The relationships were complicated. To gain full control and get the power she wanted, it would take some time.

Luka planned to start by working on weapons. If she couldn’t control other things… weapons were powerful.

Forging iron and making weapons wasn’t a big problem for her.

As long as she was willing to do it, she could easily achieve her goal.

Luka quickly closed her eyes and looked into the distance. Her expression gradually showed a hint of a smile.

She stood up and walked down, asking Shan to take her back to the forest.

Moving through the depths of the forest, Luka closed her eyes and could quickly sense the energy around her.

That energy was spreading in a certain area. Luka could clearly feel the presence of iron ore there.

When they stopped, Luka told Shan to dig in a spot not far away.

“Huh…” Shan was surprised when he heard she wanted him to dig, but he still obediently did it.

Luka sat nearby. “Can’t you just let me exchange for iron tools?”

“Sorry, Host. Bringing you here already used up all my energy,” System Avis replied.

“Useless piece of junk. You didn’t bring me a single treasure,” Luka said. Her space came with her, but all her treasures had turned into nothing.

System Avis went silent, too embarrassed to speak. It felt like everything was going wrong and started to regret picking this host.

Very soon, Shan had dug enough. When he looked at the stones, he saw that it really was iron ore.

In the apocalypse, forging iron is necessary and something that must be learned, especially making weapons.

Weapons needed to be understood both in structure and damage. They could be powered by abilities or by other means.

Luka looked around, then started weaving a basket nearby to carry the stones.

Bella had quite a few iron tools, but she hid them in her space.

After all, Bella had a space too. As a transmigrated female lead, it was impossible for her to have nothing.

When they got back to her tribe, Luka told Shan to make her a tool that could melt and forge iron.

When Shan looked at Luka, he stared for a long time.

Luka was clearly still the same young leader as before, but somehow she seemed different.

It was like she had become a whole new person, but the aura around her was still the same. It was truly strange. What made her change so much?
