DEATHS THIRST #5

He arrived home, a modest but well-kept house nestled in a quiet suburban street. His mother, Zorya, stood by the front door, her expression a mixture of concern and impatience. Beside her stood Korize, a man of similar age to zorya, his features sharp and his eyes holding a glint of cold calculation.

"I've got a bit of information on him," Sinov said, his voice dropping to a low murmur as he approached his mother. His appearance shifted subtly, his features hardening, his eyes turning a deeper red. Sinov's disguise, the innocent facade he'd worn at the academy, was gone, revealing Sivinov, his true form.

"Great, but I've got a different thing for you to do," Zorya said, her voice sharp and unwavering. "This is Korize, you've met him before." She introduced him with a polite smile, but the warmth in her eyes had vanished, replaced by a cold, calculating gaze.

Sivinov looked away, a flicker of fear crossing his features. He recognized Korize, a Nighthaunt, but their interactions had always been brief, punctuated by a simmering tension that was never quite spoken.

"You know the protocol," Zorya said, her voice a low growl, her gaze fixed on Sivinov. She turned to Korize, her expression softening slightly. "He's all yours, you can do anything you want with him, just don't behead him."

Zorya left, her footsteps echoing through the house as she disappeared into the shadows. Silence descended upon the living room, thick and suffocating. Sivinov and Korize stood facing each other, the air between them crackling with a dangerous electricity.

"So, what do you think of this little Eclipsar?" Korize asked himself, a smirk playing on his lips. "you're quite a charmer, aren't you?" His voice dripped with sarcasm, a venomous tone that sent shivers down Sivinov's spine.

Sivinov glanced at Korize, his eyes narrowing. He could feel korize gaze drilling into him, dissecting his every move, every thought.

"What are you planning, Korize?" Sivinov asked, his voice barely a whisper, his eyes wary.

"Don't worry, little bird, I'm not going to hurt you," Korize said, his voice deceptively gentle. "At least, not right now." He paused, his gaze fixed on Sivinov. "But I might just have a little fun with you first. you're a lot more interesting than the others, aren't you?"

Sivinov felt a cold dread crawl up his spine. He knew Korize well enough to understand the danger in his words. He knew the games the Nighthaunts played, the twisted pleasure they took in tormenting their victims. He knew that Korize was capable of anything, that his cruelty knew no bounds.

"This is going to be interesting," Korize murmured, a chilling smile spreading across his face. "You know, I've always been fascinated by Eclipsars. you're so... delicate. So fragile. And yet, you hold so much power. I wonder what would happen if i just... played with you a little."

Sivinov's heart pounded in his chest. He could feel the weight of his mother's order hanging over him, a heavy, oppressive burden. He was meant to observe, to report, to gather information. But Korize was a dangerous wild card, unpredictable and cruel. And now, Sinov was trapped in his sights.

The shadows in the room seemed to deepen, the air growing colder as Korize's gaze fixed on Sivinov. He could feel the korize's power radiating from him, a tangible force that threatened to consume him. And Sivinov knew, with a chilling certainty, that he was no longer just a target. He was a plaything.
