📺 Grind With Jordan

🟥 Episode 3: “The Death That Changed Me”

📅 June 2000 – Jordan Age 14

🚧 Malcolm’s Last Ride

The sun was blazing that afternoon as Malcolm Cole, now in his early 50s, climbed into the old construction vehicle — a yellow loader used for carrying bricks at a nearby site.

He wiped the sweat from his forehead.

“Just one more load…” he muttered.

But halfway through the drive, as he crossed a small dirt bridge near a river close to the site… something snapped inside his chest.

💔 “Shit… shit…!” Malcolm groaned, grabbing the wheel.

His vision blurred. His arms stiffened.

The wheel slipped.

The vehicle veered off the road and crashed into the river.

🌊 With a loud splash, the loader sank.

No one was around.

Malcolm gasped for air—but the weight of the machine dragged him under.

He fought. He clawed.

Then… nothing.

Silence.

⚠️ An Hour Later…

Some kids were swimming nearby when they saw the outline of the machine under the water.

“Yo! Call someone!”

Emergency services rushed in, pulled Malcolm’s body from the river, and rushed him to St. Gabriel Hospital.

But it was too late.

📞 The Call No Family Should Get

Rosa’s phone rang.

Doctor Steven, older now, still worked at St. Gabriel.

“Mrs. Cole… I’m so sorry. Your husband… Malcolm… he had a heart attack. He drowned before we could reach him. We tried… but… we couldn’t save him.”

Rosa dropped the phone.

Her knees buckled.

“No… no, God please no…” she screamed.

💔 At Home

Jordan sat in the corner of the living room, silent.

“Why, Dad? Why did you leave us?” he whispered, tears pouring down.

Tiana, now 20, held her head and screamed:

“Must you die now, Dad?! Why now?!”

Marcus, 10, was broken. Sobbing on the couch.

He didn’t speak for hours.

Even little Jasmine, barely 2, sensed something was wrong.

She clung to Rosa’s legs and cried softly, “Daddy…?”

⚰️ Malcolm’s Funeral

📅 June 12, 2000 – St. Gabriel Memorial Grounds

It rained lightly that day.

The casket, polished mahogany with gold handles, lay in front of a crowd of friends, family, and co-workers.

A photo of Malcolm smiling stood beside a bouquet of white lilies.

The priest began:

“Today, we lay to rest a man of honor… a father… a husband… a builder not just of bricks, but of a family.”

Everyone cried.

Jordan wore a black suit. But underneath… he wore rage. Grief. Fire.

As the casket lowered into the ground, he clenched his fists and whispered:

“I swear, Dad. I’ll become strong. Stronger than pain. Stronger than loss.”

🥊 The Beginning of the Grind

That same evening…

Jordan walked down the street in the rain. He didn’t even tell his mom. He just kept walking.

He reached the old gym two blocks from home — Sam’s Iron Garage.

Rusty weights. Old punching bags. No air conditioning.

He stepped in. Looked around.

Only one man was there — a bald trainer in his 40s, shadowboxing in the back.

Jordan said nothing.

He walked up to the sandbag…

And hit it.

Once.

Twice.

Again.

Again.

Faster. Harder. His knuckles bled. His tears mixed with sweat.

🥊 POW

🥊 POW

🥊 POW

“I’ll never be weak again…”

That was the night Jordan Cole began to grind.
