Flashback (Earlier That Day)
THE REALIZATION – CLASSROOM
Location: Empty classroom, after the Diwali holiday notice goes up. Students buzz outside; inside, only Akshu and Aarunika remain, sitting on the last bench. Chalk dust in the air. Quiet.
Akshu Sharma (Fl)
(reading the notice, sighs): “Seven days without school. I feel like someone just cut off my oxygen.”
Aarunika Thakur (fl bff, ml bff)
(cheerful): “Girl, I’m gonna spend all seven days talking to Yug. Non-stop. My ears might bleed and I still won’t stop.”
Akshu Sharma (Fl)
(faint smirk): “You’ll be deaf before Diwali arrives. Congrats in advance.”
Aarunika Thakur (fl bff, ml bff)
(giggles): “Oh by the way, remember Yug’s friend I mentioned? I met him online recently. He’s become like a brother to me now.”
Akshu Sharma (Fl)
“Hmm… What school?”
Aarunika Thakur (fl bff, ml bff)
“XYZ International Boarding—”
Akshu’s breath catches for half a second. Her eyes don’t change. Her voice doesn’t rise. But inside… thunder.
Akshu Sharma (Fl)
“Wait… that name... you remember I told you about Anaya?”
Aarunika Thakur (fl bff, ml bff)
(nods): “Yeah… that summer girl. What about her?”
Note - Ananya was a girl Akshu met during summer vacations
Akshu Sharma (Fl)
“Her best friend’s name is Anika. She hated a guy from her school… senior… weird vibe... misunderstood... never told me his name though.”
Aarunika Thakur (fl bff, ml bff)
(eyes widening slowly): “Oh my god.”
Akshu Sharma (Fl)
“Your friend… is he… mad at a junior named Anika?”
Aarunika Thakur (fl bff, ml bff)
(voice drops): “Yes.”
Silence.
Two girls.
One revelation.
A classroom filled with memories colliding like sparks in gunpowder.
Aarunika Thakur (fl bff, ml bff)
(half-whisper): “W.T.F.”
Akshu Sharma (Fl)
(half-whisper): “W.T.F.”
Akshu Sharma (Fl)
(tilting her head, no panic, just low voice): “So… I’ve been hearing about him… before even knowing he existed.”
Aarunika Thakur (fl bff, ml bff)
(still shocked): “And I’ve been talking about him… without realizing he was that guy.”
