All I Want Is Happy Ending
Introduction
Dimly lit office, late evening.
Lawyer: It’s been eight years… Why would you want this now?
The man standing before him didn’t even blink.
Raven-black hair slicked back, a few strands falling onto his sharp brow.
A cigarette burned lazily between his fingers, the smoke curling like it feared him.
He wore all black — shirt slightly unbuttoned, suit tailored like a weapon.
Eyes unreadable. Expression locked somewhere between arrogance and apathy.
Adrian Kael Renwick / ML / Investor
( low voice ) You still in duty, Holden?
Holand / Lawyer
…No. Retired three years ago.
The man smirked, flicking ash onto the floor without care.
Adrian Kael Renwick / ML / Investor
Then you don’t get answers.
He turned without waiting for a response.
Holand / Lawyer
( gets up from his seat ) At least tell me why now? That girl—she’s not part of your case.
Adrian Kael Renwick / ML / Investor
( over his shoulder ) I’ll reach out if I need anything else.
The office door clicked shut behind him
He slid into the driver’s seat and tossed the thick case file onto the passenger side.
It landed with a dull thud.
A photo slipped halfway out —
Adrian Kael Renwick / ML / Investor
( didn’t even glance at it )
Adrian Kael Renwick / ML / Investor
( phone rings, answers without looking )
Adrian Kael Renwick / ML / Investor
Yeah… I’m on my way. Send me the coordinates.
He pulled onto the street, lights flickering across his windshield.
Evening. A quiet, cozy home.
The boy’s pencil had been still for a while. His gaze wasn’t on the math problem anymore — it was on her.
Caleb
( curiously ) Miss Elara… do you have a boyfriend?
Elara Whitmore / FL
( pauses writing on notebook )
She blinked once. Slowly.
Elara Whitmore / FL
( coolly ) Why? Planning to introduce someone?
Caleb
( grinning shyly ) No… just wondering. You’re really pretty.
She tilts her head, watching him for a moment —
as if trying to figure out how this little brain even learned that line.
Elara Whitmore / FL
( dryly ) Aren’t you a little young to worry about someone’s love life?
Elara Whitmore / FL
( redirecting ) Finish this equation. If you solve it right, I’ll tell you the square root of my dating history.
Caleb
…That sounds complicated.
She gives a rare, faint smile.
The kid ran toward his parents after his class
His mom leaned on the father’s shoulder. They looked happy — easy, warm
Before heading out she took her monthly payment for tutoring.
Elara Whitmore / FL
( walking down the street )
Elara Whitmore / FL
( making phone calls )
Elara Whitmore / FL
?? strange. why isn’t he picking up ??
Elara Whitmore / FL
( it’s already been a month… should I pay him short visit?
Elara walked up a dim stairwell.
She heard a faint voice from one of the doors up ahead.
